Final Score: NY Jets 24, Miami 6

East Rutherford, NJ (Sports Network) - Revis Island was a good place for the Jets to park their problems.

It was no place for a team chasing its first win since the last time people were hanging Christmas lights.

Darrelle Revis returned an interception 100 yards for a touchdown, sparking New York to a 24-6 win over the sinking Miami Dolphins on Monday night.

Getting more than a little physical on the play, Revis intercepted first-time Miami starter Matt Moore's pass to Brandon Marshall as the Dolphins closed in on a potential 10-0 lead in the first quarter.

Instead, the dynamic corner took the pick goal-line-to-goal-line for a 7-3 Jets lead, and his team would never trail again while snapping a three-game losing streak that was as famous for its in-fighting as the actual losses.

Mark Sanchez threw for 201 yards and a touchdown and led the Jets (3-3) on an 81-yard drive late in the first half, scoring himself on a five-yard draw play.

Santonio Holmes dashed around a couple of tackles for a 38-yard touchdown catch in the fourth quarter, putting the game out of reach, and Revis got his second interception of the night in the final minutes.

Moore was 16-of-34 for 204 yards for the Dolphins (0-5), who have lost eight straight games since beating the Jets 10-6 last December 12.

Marshall, who drew criticism for saying Thursday he would probably be kicked out of the game by halftime, had six catches for 109 yards to lead all receivers.

Holmes, of course, drew ire as well for complaining about the blocking ability of New York's offensive line.

He was also among the wide receivers who were reported -- in a story denied by the Jets -- to have questioned the job being done by offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer.

"We picked it up and never got down on each other," Jets head coach Rex Ryan said. "When you lose three games in this league, it's tough. But all teams go through these things. The difference with us is we're open.

"It's unfortunate that it happened, but that's how it goes. We're chasing much bigger things."

A Monday night win might be enough to quash New York's troubling storylines, but the Dolphins will have to find a linchpin somewhere else for their own problems.

Coming off a bye with a new starting quarterback after Chad Henne went down with a shoulder injury in a Week 4 loss to San Diego, the team is potentially fighting to save jobs.

The Miami Herald reported earlier in the day that team owner Stephen Ross is considering a regime change if the Dolphins don't turn it around soon -- a plan that could include the firing of head coach Tony Sparano and general manager Jeff Ireland, and the acquisition of a franchise quarterback.

"We played well in stretches," said Sparano. "I think [we] played hard the whole game, that's not the question. Sometimes you just have to get out of your own way."

Dan Carpenter kicked a 23-yard field goal for a 3-0 lead midway through the first quarter and Miami recovered a fumble on the ensuing kickoff after it hit the right leg of Jets special teamer Garrett McIntyre.

But Revis was all over Marshall near the goal line on a 3rd-and-7 play, even grabbing at his jersey, and Moore threw the ball right to him as Marshall stumbled.

Revis started on the right side and cut toward the middle of the field, getting a couple of early blocks and making it through the Dolphins offense mostly untouched for a 7-3 Jets lead.

It was the third time in his career, and first time since 2009, that he returned a pick for a touchdown.

"He made the play," said Marshall, "so it changed the game a little bit."

Later in the first quarter, Marshall fooled Antonio Cromartie with a cut and was wide open on the left side for a 46-yard catch that could have gone for a touchdown if the receiver was able to stall his momentum and stay inbounds.

Instead, Carpenter kicked a 21-yarder to get Miami within 7-6 early in the second quarter.

Sanchez then led the Jets on an 11-play drive before halftime, completing back-to-back passes of 27 yards to Dustin Keller and 20 yards to Holmes before scoring up the middle to make it 14-6.

Nick Folk kicked a 28-yard field goal for the only points in the third quarter and Holmes' touchdown came on a 3rd-and-10 play from the Miami 38, giving the Jets a 24-6 lead with under 12 minutes to play in the fourth.

Revis got his 17th career interception, and third of the season, while working on rookie wide receiver Clyde Gates near the left sideline later in the final quarter.

Linebacker David Harris drove Moore into the ground on a hard hit as the quarterback released the ball and Revis was in position to snare the short pass.
