Insight: Morse is expected to play first base, though he can also handle the outfield if needed. He could bat cleanup and be protection for Giancarlo Stanton which would offer him plenty of opportunities to drive in runs. On the other hand, Marlins Park is a hard place to go deep.

Insight: Morse has been playing in instructional league games in Arizona. Morse would be a big upgrade over Travis Ishikawa and Juan Perez, but manager Bruce Bochy would not say how many games Morse could start in left field.
