Description: Braves closer Craig Kimbrel wasn't available on Monday due to a sore shoulder, but hopes to be ready for tuesday, weather permitting.
Insight: Kimbrel pitched Friday and Saturday which might have been the cause of his soreness. He's the best closer in baseball and a fantasy stud. He's earned five saves this season with a 1.59 ERA, 0.706 WHIP and 12 Ks in 5 2/3 IP.

Description: The Braves signed reliever Craig Kimbrel to a four-year contract extension over the weekend.
Insight: Kimbrel's new $42 million deal includes a team option for 2018 ($1 million buyout). He's the best closer in the game right now and though $10.5 million a year is a lot to give a relief pitcher, Kimbrel should be worth every penny.

Description: Braves closer Craig Kimbrel reached 50 saves for the first time in his career Friday against the Phillies.
Insight: Kimbrel has turned in a third straight dominant campaign, going 50-for-54 in save chances with a 1.23 ERA, a 0.88 WHIP and 98 strikeouts in 66 innings.

Description: Atlanta flamethrower Craig Kimbrel blew his first save of the 2013 campaign Wednesday in a loss at Colorado.
Insight: Take it easy, fantasy owners. Before Wednesday, Kimbrel hadn't given up a run all season. He still leads the majors in saves (eight) and we wouldn't expect too many more bumps in the road like this going forward.

Description: Braves closer Craig Kimbrel shut the door in the ninth inning Sunday to complete Atlanta's sweep of the Phillies. The save was Kimbrel's 25th of the season.
Insight: He's given up just one run in his last 22 appearances. In that span, Kimbrel (0-1, 1.36 ERA) is a perfect 15-for-15 in save chances.

Description: Braves closer Craig Kimbrel struck out the side against the Marlins on Sunday to record his 16th save of the year.
Insight: Kimbrel hasn't allowed a hit since May 11 or a run since May 4. The right-hander has picked up right where he left of last season, when he set the rookie saves record. This year, Kimbrel is 16-for-17 in save chances with a 1.80 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 33 strikeouts in 20 innings.

Description: Kimbrel endured a tough first spring outing Saturday that included two walks, a double and a homer to go with just one recorded out.
Insight: One poor outing certainly doesn't spell doom for the rookie closer candidate, but he'll have to make this look like an outlier to win the job outright. (
