GAME NOTES: A pair of teams jockeying for position atop the Southern Conference standings meet when the Western Carolina Catamounts host the Chattanooga Mocs at the Ramsey Center.

Both the Mocs and the Catamounts are 10-4 and tied with Wofford for third in the SoCon. They are among the five teams who will receive first-round byes in the postseason tournament. However, the exact seedings are still yet to be determined with two regular season games left. Davidson leads the SoCon at 13-1 and Elon is second at 11-3.

Chattanooga enters this game on somewhat of a slide. The team has lost two straight and four of five after Sunday's 88-84 setback to UNC-Greensboro. The Mocs rallied from a 12-point deficit to get within two points, but ran out of time, falling to 4-10 on the road this season.

Casey Jones led the Mocs with 21 points and 11 rebounds and Z. Mason added 19 points and 11 boards.

Mason leads the Mocs in scoring and rebounding this season with 18.1 ppg and a SoCon-leading 9.5 rpg. Jones is next with 12.2 ppg, while Ronrico White (11.2) and McGhee (10.2) round out the double-digit scorers for Chattanooga, which averages 76.6 ppg this season.

The Catamounts, on the other hand, come into this contest on a roll, having won three straight and five of six following Saturday's 70-52 win over The Citadel.

Western Carolina's leading scorer Trey Sumler led the way against The Citadel with 18 points. James Sinclair added 13 points and eight boards and Brandon Boggs had 12 points for the Catamounts, who improved to 11-1 at the Ramsey Center this season.

Sumler averages 17.7 ppg. Boggs (11.6) and Sinclair (11.3) round out the double-figure scorers for the Catamounts, who average 73.8 ppg.

These two teams met earlier this season with Chattanooga coming away with an 83-73 win at the McKenzie Center. Mason poured in 23 points and grabbed eight rebounds and McGhee tallied a double-double with 16 points and 15 rebounds for Chattanooga, which hasn't won in two games since.

Boggs scored 21 points for Western Carolina, which hasn't lost since.

Expect a different result in this game. Although Mason has been a beast for the Mocs on the offensive end, Chattanooga just hasn't been playing well of late and has been bad on the road. Western Carolina, meanwhile, has been cruising of late and has dominated opponents at home.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Western Carolina 82, Chattanooga 72
