GAME NOTES: The Wofford Terriers have a shot at the second seed in the upcoming Southern Conference Tournament with win against the UNC Greensboro Spartans at Johnson Arena on Saturday evening.

Wofford is currently tied with Elon and Chattanooga for second place in the SoCon standings at 11-4. If the Terriers win and both Elon and Chattanooga lose tonight, Wofford would secure the two seed behind top seed Davidson.

The Terriers moved into the three-way tie thanks to Thursday night's 63-59 win at Elon. Karl Cochran finished with 20 points and seven rebounds as the Terriers won for the 10th time in 11 outings. Lee Skinner chipped in 17 points and seven boards for the Terriers, who improved to 17-11 overall.

Elon took a 26-22 lead into the intermission, but the Terriers heated up after the break to sink 52.2 percent of their shots from the floor, including 6- of-10 from behind the 3-point line. Elon could not keep up as it was held to 39.1 percent shooting from the field in the second stanza. The contest was tied at 56 with just over a minute remaining before Wofford took control for good with a 5-0 run.

Cochran leads Wofford with 15.4 ppg. Spencer Collins adds 13.3 ppg and Skinner tallies 11.3 ppg for the Terriers, who average 68 ppg this season.

UNC Greensboro enters this contest in a battle for the sixth seed in the SoCon standings. The Spartans are tied with Georgia Southern at 6-9.

Last time out, the Spartans got trounced by Davidson 79-46. R.J. White had a double-double with 16 points and 10 boards for UNC Greensboro, which lost for the third time in four outings and was never in the game.

The Spartans went into the intermission trailing, 44-25 and continued to struggle in the second half.

Kyle Cain leads the Spartans with 15.5 ppg and 9.2 rpg. Tevon Saddler (12.3) and Kayel Locke (11.4) round out the double-figure scorers for UNC Greensboro, which averages under 71 ppg and yields over 74 ppg.

This is the first and only regular-season meeting of the season between these two schools. Wofford holds a 20-10 lead in the all-time series and has dominated of late, winning 10 of 11 meetings. Expect much of the same here, as the Terriers are deeper and have more offensive punch.
