Kent, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - Mark Henniger made all five of his field goal attempts, finishing with a team-high 13 points, as the Kent State Golden Flashes topped the Saint Peter's Peacocks, 75-58, in non-conference play at the MAC Center.
Darren Goodson and Kris Brewer both produced 12 points for the Golden Flashes (3-1) as they rebounded from their first loss of the season to Seton Hall on Wednesday night.
The Peacocks (0-3) were paced by Marvin Dominique who posted a game-high 15 points, followed by Trevis Wyche and Quadir Welton with 11 and 10 points, respectively. Wyche also handed out eight of the team's 14 assists.
Goodson led the way for the hosts in the first half as he tallied 10 points on 4-of-8 shooting from the floor, en route to a 33-29 advantage at the break. Kent State connected on 48.1 percent from the field as a group and turned the ball over just five times.
In the second half the Golden Flashes elevated their accuracy from the floor to 55.6 percent as they cruised to the 17-point win.
The Peacocks were guilty of 12 turnovers and were beaten on the glass by a 35-24 margin.
