Muncie,IN (SportsNetwork.com) - Khyle Marshall scored 14 points and added nine rebounds to lead the Butler Bulldogs over the Ball State Cardinals, 59-58, in non-conference action at Worthen Arena.

Butler (4-0) was led by a balanced scoring attack in the game. Marshall shot 7-of-14 from the field, while Alex Barlow added 10 points of his own, including a perfect 3-of-3 showing at the charity stripe. Kameron Woods finished the contest with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Elijah Brown came off the bench and netted 13 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the field. Kellen Dunham, who leads the Bulldogs in scoring on the season, had eight points.

Majok Majok led the way for Ball State (2-2) recording his third double-double of the season. Majok scored 15 points and added 11 rebounds. Chris Bond added 14 points of his own on 5-of-9 shooting. Zavier Turner, who leads the Cardinals in scoring this season, struggled from the field shooting 2-of-9 on the contest. Turner finished the game with eight points.

Ball State took a 30-23 lead into half after it limited the Bulldogs to just 30 percent shooting from the floor over the opening 20 minutes of action.

Butler shot just 40.6 percent from the field after the break, but battled back by grabbing 10 offensive rebounds while forcing the Cardinals into nine turnovers. Turner's missed layup with two seconds remaining proved to be the difference.

Ball State outrebounded Butler by a 40-38 margin, but the Bulldogs scored 23 points off of 17 Cardinal turnovers.

Butler has now won four straight games and will take on Washington State next Thursday in Orlando, as part of the Old Spice Classic. The Cardinals will travel to Salt Lake City next Wednesday to face Utah.

Ball State is the only team Butler has played in every season since 1950-51.
