Ithaca, NY (Sports Network) - Shonn Miller and Dominick Scelfo both scored 15 points as the Cornell Big Red posted a 79-56 win over visiting Dartmouth in Ivy League play at Newman Arena,
Also scoring in double figures for Cornell (11-12, 3-3 Ivy) were Nolan Cressler and Errick Peck with 14 and 11 points, respectively, the latter handing out seven assists as the squad won for the second time in the last three outings.
The Big Green (6-14, 2-4) was paced by Tyler Melville with 12 points, followed by Alex Mitola with 10 and reserve Jvonte Brooks nine points and a game-high eight rebounds off the bench as the team had a two-game win streak snapped.
Cornell opened the contest on a 12-2 run and never looked back, shooting a sizzling 63.0 percent from the floor, including 6-of-11 behind the 3-point line in the first half, in order to take a commanding 45-23 advantage at the break.
In the second half the Big Red dipped to 40.0 percent accuracy from the field, but still maintained a sizeable lead, en route to the 23-point triumph.
Dartmouth, which had played at Columbia on Friday night, turned the ball over 18 times, leading to 24 points for the hosts.
This game was initially scheduled to be played on Saturday but was pushed back due to the winter storm that hit New York.
