Description: According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Raiders coach Tom Cable is concerned about DE Richard Seymour's hamstring, but notes that "it's still early".

11/11/2010 8:02:00 PM
Description: Jerry McDonald of Bay Area News Group believes Richard Seymour is playing as well as any Raiders defensive lineman since Howie Long in the 1980s, reports the Oakland Tribune.
Insight: Seymour is on pace to set a career-high in tackles in addition to a double-digit sack total. According to McDonald, he's been "absolutely dominant". If it weren't for Clay Matthews, Seymour would definitely be getting some looks for defensive player of the year. (
8/5/2010 6:34:00 PM
Description: Richard Seymour is working primarily as a defensive tackle so far at Raiders camp.
Insight: Seymour wasn't all that effective at the end position, either, but a move to defensive tackle will knock his IDP value even further down. (

Insight: Seymour's four sacks in 2009 was not what Al Davis was expecting when he traded a first-round pick to the Patriots. Set to earn over $12 million this year, Seymour is going to have to have a big year if he wants another payday next offseason.

6/19/2010 7:16:00 PM
Description: Raiders re-signed "exclusive rights" franchise player Richard Seymour to a one-year, $12.398 million contract.
Insight: The Raiders were starting to make so many intelligent moves, it's almost a relief that something like this comes along to restore your faith in the balance of the world. Seymour is not worth even a third of this contract. (
5/2/2010 7:02:00 PM
Description: Coach Tom Cable revealed Friday that the Raiders are in discussions about a long-term contract with franchise player Richard Seymour.
Insight: The Raiders didn?t learn their lesson about trading with the Patriots in the Randy Moss fiasco and are now being burned by the fact that they gave up a first round pick for Seymour. They would only be compounding their mistake by giving the uninspired player a long term deal so you can fully expect for that to happen. (
1/14/2010 8:53:00 AM
Description: The Oakland Tribune reports that the Raiders are expected to franchise Seymour this off-season.
Insight: The Raiders gave up a first round pick to get Seymour and it certainly makes sense to lock him up. (
10/24/2009 1:55:00 AM
Description: Seymour did not practice on Friday and is currently listed as questionable to play against the Jets on Sunday.
Insight: Seymour is a huge presence on defense for the Raiders and if he is unable to play, that would be great news for Thomas Jones and Leon Washington. (
