Lions ink S Quin, re-sign CB Houston

Allen Park, MI (Sports Network) - The Detroit Lions signed a pair of new players in safety Glover Quin and defensive tackle Jason Jones on Wednesday, while also retaining cornerback Chris Houston with a multi-year contract.

According to the Lions' official site, Quin and Houston's deals are for five years, while Jones' pact is for three years.

Quin has spent all four years of his career with the Houston Texans and has started 16 games in each of the past three seasons.

In 2012, he recorded 84 tackles to go with 14 passes defensed and two interceptions. In 2010, Quin posted career-highs with 85 tackles and three interceptions while also registering 14 passes defensed.

Houston started all 14 games in which he played last season, his third with the Lions, and finished with 56 tackles, two interceptions and two forced fumbles.

Acquired in a trade with Atlanta in March of 2010, the Arkansas product has registered 332 tackles and 11 interceptions in 87 career games.

Jones was selected by Tennessee in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft and spent his first four seasons with the Titans before signing a one-year deal with Seattle last season.

Over 12 games in 2012, Jones recorded 10 tackles and three sacks.
