Reid: Vick has 'significant' concussion Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Philadelphia Eagles coach Andy Reid said Monday that quarterback Michael Vick has a "pretty significant" concussion. Vick threw a touchdown pass on the first drive of Sunday's game against the Cowboys, but took a pair of hits on consecutive plays early in the second quarter. He left the game and was diagnosed with a concussion. Nick Foles, Philadelphia's third-round draft pick out of Arizona last April, made his NFL debut, connecting on 22-of-32 passes for 219 yards with a touchdown and an interception. The oft-injured Vick has not missed a game all season, but that streak could end this Sunday against the Redskins. He has only played a full 16-game slate one time during his 10-year career (2006). Reid said Vick was foggy after the game and has a headache. Vick has not been ruled out for Sunday's game against Washington, but it seems likely that Foles will get the start. In other injury news, wide receiver Jeremy Maclin has a low back strain and wide receiver Jason Avant is dealing with a hamstring strain. The Eagles' 38-23 loss Sunday was the team's fifth straight setback, dropping them to 3-6 on the season. 11/12 12:33:24 ET Powered by The Sports Network. |
