Description: Shooting guard Mickael Pietrus will start for the Raptors Monday night in Portland. He sat out Sunday's loss to the Clippers with left knee tendinitis.
Insight: Pietrus (10.8 ppg) had surgery on his knee during the offseason and he's clearly not at 100 percent yet. Pietrus' history of knee issues is something fantasy owners need to be aware of when assembling their lineups this season.
12/6/2012 10:40:00 AM
Description: Raptors guard-forward Mickael Pietrus netted 21 points with six rebounds and two threes Wednesday against the Kings.
Insight: Pietrus has started the last two games in place of Linas Kleiza (sore hip). We're not convinced Pietrus is going to receive consistent shots in a lineup with Kyle Lowry, DeMar DeRozan and Andrea Bargnani, especially when Kleiza returns.
12/3/2012 7:38:00 PM
Description: The Raptors will start Mickael Pietrus in place of Linas Kleiza (hip) Monday against the Nuggets.
Insight: Pietrus scored six points with two rebounds in 31:30 off the bench Monday, his first appearance with Toronto. Kleiza will likely be day-to-day with a sore hip.
11/29/2012 8:48:00 PM
Description: The Raptors have agreed to sign free agent swingman Mickael Pietrus. The deal is expected to be finalized Friday. SOURCE: USA Today
Insight: Pietrus will give the Raptors some much needed depth on the perimeter but isn't a fantasy factor. Small forward Dominic McGuire will likely be released in a corresponding roster move.
11/28/2012 9:31:00 PM
Description: ESPN's Marc Stein is reporting that Toronto could be interested in signing free agent swingman Mickael Pietrus.
Insight: The Raptors have been hampered by injuries all season and Pietrus would be able to provide some much needed depth at small forward and shooting guard. Even if Pietrus does come back, you won't need to keep an eye on him in fantasy.
11/24/2012 4:23:00 PM
Description: Free agent shooting guard Mickael Pietrus has drawn interest from the Lakers according to Marc Spears of Yahoo Sports.
Insight: Pietrus hasn't been able to crack an NBA roster since having surgery on his injured knee during the summer. He averaged 6.9 ppg in 42 games for the Celtics in 2011-12.
6/13/2012 8:34:00 PM
Description: Celtics guard Mickael Pietrus underwent right knee surgery Wednesday in Boston.
Insight: Pietrus (6.9 ppg) should be fine by the start of next season. The 6-foot-6 guard will be a free agent this offseason but he says he's hoping to return to the Celtics.
4/24/2012 3:33:00 PM
Description: Celtics guard Mickael Pietrus (knee) will miss Tuesday's game against Miami.
Insight: Without Pietrus and Ray Allen and Rajon Rondo a question mark, Avery Bradley is a must-start. Bradley is averaging 15.7 ppg, 2.8 rpg and 1.5 apg in April and is a shutdown defender.
4/23/2012 6:43:00 PM
Description: Mickael Pietrus (knee) didn't practice on Monday. The Celtics are listing him as questionable for Tuesday's game against the Heat.
Insight: Pietrus has missed each of Boston's last three games. With Ray Allen out for sure and Pietrus and Rajon Rondo questionable, it should be another big night in the backcourt for emerging star Avery Bradley (15.7 ppg this month).
4/17/2012 8:05:00 PM
Description: Mickael Pietrus will not be available Tuesday night against the Knicks. Pietrus is dealing with a knee injury.
Insight: Pietrus returned from a pretty severe concussion about a week ago. Pietrus is in Boston getting his knee checked out right now so we'll know more about the extent of his injury soon.
4/10/2012 1:50:00 PM
Description: Mickael Pietrus registered eight points and six rebounds in his return to the lineup Wednesday against the Hawks. Pietrus had missed the Celtics' previous 10 contests after suffering a nasty concussion in a game against the 76ers.
Insight: Pietrus played reasonably well in his return but even with Ray Allen sidelined again with an ankle injury, Avery Bradley should still get the starting nod at shooting guard going forward.
4/8/2012 6:12:00 PM
Description: Mickael Pietrus passed his concussion test and could be available for Sunday's game against the 76ers.
Insight: Pietrus probably won't see the floor tonight but he does appear close to returning. Avery Bradley's recent rise in the fantasy world (12.4 ppg in his last five) could be slowed by Pietrus' return.
3/25/2012 5:37:00 PM
Description: Mickael Pietrus has been cleared to rejoin the team after suffering a concussion Friday night against the 76ers.
Insight: Pietrus will probably be on the shelf for at least a few games while doctors decide where to go from here. Pietrus took a pretty scary fall, so the fact that it's only a concussion and not something more serious is a great sign for Pietrus and the Celtics. Avery Bradley should see more playing time with Pietrus and Ray Allen both injured.
3/23/2012 9:18:00 PM
Description: Mickael Pietrus was taken off the court on a stretcher after hitting his head on the floor. He had four points on 1-5 shooting before exiting the game.
Insight: It was a pretty scaring moment for everyone, as the Wells Fargo Center went silent while Pietrus was being helped off the court. Head injuries are always serious. Boston lost Marquis Daniels to a similar injury a season ago. With Ray Allen out with a bad ankle, Avery Bradley should play the rest of the game at shooting guard for the Celtics.
3/23/2012 7:52:00 PM
Description: With Ray Allen sidelined by an ankle injury, Mickael Pietrus will get the start at shooting guard tonight for Boston.
Insight: Pietrus hasn't been anything special this season (6.9 ppg) but he could warrant a start depending on the depth of your fantasy league. Pietrus chucks up a lot of threes so he is a high-risk, high-reward type of player.
3/13/2012 10:30:00 AM
Description: Ray Allen suffered an ankle injury Monday night against the Clippers, which could open the door for Mickael Pietrus to make his fifth start of the season Wednesday at Golden State.
Insight: Allen is listed as questionable for the moment but if he can't play, Pietrus's fantasy value gets a huge boost. He has averaged 13 points and six rebounds per game in his four starts, compared to just 5.5 points and 2.7 rebounds when he's come off the bench.
3/7/2011 12:30:00 AM
Description: Vince Carter gave the Thunder a case of dizziness with his 29 points, four assists, and six threes in a losing effort on Sunday. Mickael Pietrus got red hot in the third quarter to finish with 20 points including four from far away.
Insight: Pietrus could see a slight bump in minutes and was a huge part of Kevin Durant's lack of production tonight (3-of-14 shooting). He has useful set of skills in fantasy and deep leagues might want consider of putting him on their roster.
3/4/2011 10:36:00 PM
Description: Mickael Pietrus made a seamless transition into the starting lineup and dropped 20 points, eight boards, and three triples in 33 minutes on Friday. Channing Frye's eye contusion was not an issue with his five threes on his way to 20 points, nine boards, and two steals in the easy win.
Insight: Carter missed this game due to being dizzy and he is certainly a player that might sit for a while. He could be back
2/18/2011 9:00:00 AM
Description: Mickael Pietrus logged 26 minutes for the Suns and handed in a line of 11 points, two boards, and a three.
Insight: He is clearly the best defender on the Suns and he has enough upside to at least be watched in deep leagues. There are probably better players to stash on your waiver wire though.
2/15/2011 11:14:00 PM
Description: Mickael Pietrus played extremely well down the stretch to finish with 11 points, four boards, a steal, four blocks, and three triples in the win over Utah.
Insight: His shooting gets all the attention in fantasy, but it's easy to forget that he was drafted to be an elite defender. This is an absolute monster line and with a performance like this one, it certainly puts him on the radar in deep leagues.
