Insight: Johnson scored 34 points on 14-of-23 shooting. He sunk three 3-pointers and had eight rebounds and six assists. He is touching and distributing the ball just as well as point guard Deron Williams, who also had six assists on Saturday.

He averaged 3.4 rebounds per game last season while scoring 15.8 points per game. In addition to improving the rebounding numbers, Johnson would also like to shoot more free throws. Last season, he averaged 2.5 free throw attempts per game.

Insight: Brooklyn inbounded the ball to Johnson with less than five seconds left, but he had it knocked loose and couldn't regain possession before time expired. Johnson was Brooklyn's best player during its 2014 playoff run, averaging 21.2 points per game on .533 shooting.

Insight: There had been a rumor the Nets were thinking of resting their starters to try and get the No. 6 seed and a more favorable matchup with Toronto in the first round, though apparently that wasn't the case. A shooting guard for most of his career, Johnson has played primarily as a small forward this season. He leads the team in scoring at 15.8 ppg.
