Busch ties Martin for Nationwide pole record

Loudon, NH (Sports Network) - Kyle Busch moved into a tie with Mark Martin for most career poles in the Nationwide Series after winning Saturday's qualifying for the 200-lap race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Busch turned a lap at 131.916 mph, which set a new track qualifying record at this 1.058-mile oval. The 28-year-old Busch claimed his 30th career Nationwide pole in his 258th start. Four of his poles have come this season. He is the only driver with multiple race victories at New Hampshire, winning three from 2009-11.

Brian Vickers, who is Busch's Nationwide teammate at Joe Gibbs Racing, earned the outside pole with a lap at 131.207 mph.

Kasey Kahne qualified third, followed by Regan Smith, the current points leader, and Brian Scott. Smith holds a six-point advantage over Sam Hornish Jr., who will start 12th.
