Insight: He's coming back from a strained hamstring. Hector Santiago (0-7, 4.41 ERA) will get the start on Saturday. If the rehab outing goes well, Skaggs (4-4, 4.34 ERA) should be able to re-join the rotation sometime next week.

Description: Angels left-hander Tyler Skaggs gave up five runs in seven innings Monday at Seattle, but just two were earned. He struck out eight, walked two and allowed seven hits.
Insight: A two-out error by Erick Aybar in the bottom of the second led to three unearned runs for the Mariners. Skaggs has a 3.97 ERA, but fantasy owners have to like his 1.14 WHIP and improving strikeout rate (19 Ks in last 20 IP, 28 in first 45 2/3).

Insight: Skaggs, who was considered a top-10 overall prospect by mlb.com in 2012 when he was with the Diamondbacks, worked on his mechanics after posting a 5.43 ERA, a 1.41 WHIP and an 89.4 mph four-seamer the last two years. He was clocked at 93-95 mph Saturday. Granted, it was against the Astros, but it was still an encouraging performance.

Insight: Skaggs was considered a top-10 overall prospect by mlb.com in 2012 when he was with the Diamondbacks, but he has recorded a 5.43 ERA and a 1.41 WHIP over 68 innings in the majors while averaging 89.4 mph with his fastball. Los Angeles acquired him along with Hector Santiago for Mark Trumbo this winter.

Insight: Skaggs (2-1, 4.03 ERA) has had mixed results in his five big league appearances this season but the D'Backs will continue to give him chances. Trevor Cahill and Brandon McCarthy aren't expected to come off the DL until next month so Skaggs should have quite a few opportunities to prove himself.

Insight: Skaggs has a 4.26 ERA and an 87/28 K/BB in 76 innings with Triple-A Reno this season, and he just three 8 1/3 shutout innings with 13 K in his latest start. However, the lefty has posted a 5.67 ERA and a 1.43 WHIP in 46 major league innings.

The left-hander has had a rough year at Triple-A, posting a 5.23 ERA, but he does have a 54/17 K/BB in 51 2/3 innings and threw a six-inning, three-hit, no-run, nine-strikeout start against the Rangers on May 27. On potential alone, he should be owned in most leagues.

Insight: McCarthy was placed on the DL Saturday with a shoulder injury. Randall Delgado was called up to take the roster spot, but he's expected to work out of the bullpen. Skaggs should be added in all leagues, as he is one of baseball's top prospects. The left-hander struck out nine batters in six shutout innings in a spot start on May 27 against the Rangers.

Insight: Skaggs is one of the team's top prospects. He was added to the rotation back on Aug. 22 and allowed just five earned runs in his first 17 1/3 innings but he's allowed 14 earned in his last 12.
