Description: Indians right-hander Carlos Carrasco has been handed an eight-game suspension for hitting Kevin Youkilis during Tuesday's game, according to Bill Shaikin of the LA Times.
Insight: Carrasco was making his first start following a six-game suspension for the same thing. The first suspension was actually assessed back in 2011, but Carrasco suffered an elbow injury and never served it. He has been demoted to the minors, so his suspension won't start until he returns to the big league club.

Description: Indians right-hander Carlos Carrasco has been demoted to the minors after allowing seven earned over 3 2/3 innings Tuesday against the Yankees. Carrasco was ejected for throwing at Kevin Youkilis.
Insight: Carrasco just finished serving a six-game suspension that was handed out in 2011, prior to his elbow injury, for the same reason. Another suspension could be headed his way. The right-hander was throwing 95-97 mph during the game but the team had no choice but to punish him. If Scott Kazmir isn't ready to pitch, we could see Trevor Bauer get recalled.

Description: Indians right-hander Carlos Carrasco was ejected from Tuesday's game for hitting Kevin Youkilis following a home run by Robinson Cano.
Insight: Carrasco just finished serving a six-game suspension that was handed out in 2011, prior to his elbow injury, for the same reason. Another suspension could be headed his way. The right-hander was throwing 95-97 mph during the game but he allowed seven runs on seven hits in 3 2/3 innings.

4/7/2013 4:40:00 PM
Description: Indians right-hander Carlos Carrasco will start Tuesday against the Yankees in place of the injured Scott Kazmir.
Insight: Carrasco will end his suspension that was handed out in 2011 prior to his elbow injury. He went 8-9 with a 4.62 ERA in 2011.

3/25/2013 9:05:00 PM
Description: Carlos Carrasco did not win a rotation spot but he will be on Cleveland's Opening Day roster so that he can finally serve his six-game suspension.
Insight: The suspension was actually handed out late in the 2011 season but Carrasco hurt his elbow shortly after that and never got a chance to serve it. Once the suspension is over, Carrasco will report to the Indians' Triple-A affiliate in Columbus.

6/18/2011 9:41:00 PM
Description: Carlos Carrasco notched his seventh win today against the Pirates. Carrasco gave up only one earned run in 6 1/3 innings and is a surprising 7-3 on the season
Insight: He's now given up one earned run in his last three outings, all wins.

6/8/2011 9:13:00 AM
Description: Carlos Carrasco helped the Tribe snap their eight game losing streak on Tuesday by tossing 8 1/3 innings of shut out baseball. He allowed three hits and a walk while striking out six Twins in their 1-0 victory.
Insight: Carrasco is 5-3 with a 4.52 ERA and being 24 years old there is more potential up side here.

3/9/2011 7:42:00 PM
Description: Carlos Carrasco gave up two runs over three innings against the Padres on Wednesday.
Insight: Carlos pitched well in 7 games last year, but that is too small a sample to accurately predict his 2011 season. For now, he should only be rostered on NL only and deep mixed leagues, until he proves otherwise.

2/21/2011 10:00:00 AM
Description: Manager Manny Acta said Sunday that he believes Carrasco has earned a spot with the big club, stopping just short of anointing him a member of the rotation.
Insight: "I think Carrasco has done enough in Triple-A already," Acta told MLB.com. "And he pitched well enough for us last year in September that he's got a leg up on that [fourth] spot in the rotation. It's pretty safe to say that he's going to be one of those five guys." Acta did say that Carrasco -- or someone else -- could pitch his way out of the job, but the soon-to-be 23-year-old seems likely to win a spot. Carrasco went 2-2 with a 3.83 ERA in seven appearances late last season for the Indians. (RapidDraft.com)

9/22/2010 3:50:00 PM
Description: Carlos Carrasco took the loss today despite allowing three runs over six innings.
Insight: He has been throwing quality starts all month but poor run support has held him to just one win. He can be tried in deeper leagues for the final week.

9/18/2010 7:59:00 AM
Description: Carlos Carrasco earned his first win of the season after allowing three runs over six innings against the Royals.
Insight: He has only thrown quality starts since being called up at the start of September. It's time to use him if you need another starter for next week's games.

9/12/2010 6:15:00 AM
Description: Carlos Carrasco held Minnesota scoreless for seven-plus innings last night but left with a no-decision.
Insight: He has made 3 QS since getting the call at the start of September. He is a solid option against the Royals next week.

9/7/2010 5:29:00 AM
Description: Carlos Carrasco held L.A. to two runs over six innings in a no-decision last night.
Insight: Carrasco has thrown two quality starts since being called up to join the Indians' September rotation. He isn't useful in mixed leagues but AL-Only owners should use him and he is making a good push to be in their 2011 rotation.

Description: Carlos Carrasco is going to be called up to start tomorrow. SOURCE: TRIBE INSIDER ON TWITTER
Insight: He will take a regular spot in the Indians rotation in September. AL-Only owners can give him a shot if they need another starter - he was pretty solid in AAA this year.

8/31/2010 1:05:00 PM
Description: Paul Hoynes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports, via Twitter, that the Indians will call up Carrasco on Tuesday or Wednesday.
Insight: Carrasco has a 3.65 ERA and 133 strikeouts over 150.1 innings with Triple-A Columbus this season, and should step right into a spot in the Indians' starting rotation for the final month of the season. (SportsBuff.com)

8/25/2010 11:01:00 AM
Description: The Akron Beacon Journal reports the Indians will call up Carrasco when rosters expand in September.
Insight: Carrasco will remain in the Indians' starting rotation for the rest of the season upon being called up. He has a 3.77 ERA over 143.1 innings this season and could be worth consideration in AL-only leagues. (SportsBuff.com)

8/23/2010 8:10:00 AM
Description: Carlos Carrasco will almost certainly be part of Cleveland's September rotation. SOURCE: OHIOMM.COM
Insight: He has pitched decently in the minors this year and could help AL-Only owners in September when they inevitably lose some of their starters.

6/21/2010 12:46:00 PM
Description: Anthony Castrovince of MLB.com speculates that Carrasco could take David Huff's spot in the Indians' starting rotation.
Insight: Huff has been sent down to Triple-A Columbus already, so the spot is open. Carrasco, who the Indians acquired from the Phillies in the Cliff Lee trade, is 5-3 with a 4.29 ERA in 13 starts for Triple-A Columbus this season. (SportsBuff.com)

4/1/2010 12:58:00 PM
Description: Carrasco has been optioned to Triple-A Columbus.
Insight: Carrasco lost the competition to be the Indians' fifth starter to David Huff, so he will sharpen his stuff in the minors unless or until the Indians need a rotation filler. (SportsBuff.com)

3/28/2010 11:41:00 PM
Description: Carrasco allowed five runs and walked six over 3.2 innings against the Angels on Sunday.
Insight: Carrasco is battling David Huff for the fifth rotation spot, so this outing did not help him. (SportsBuff.com)
