Description: The perfect end to a lost season for Baltimore 1B/3B Chris Davis as he was suspended for 25 games after testing positive for amphetamines.
Insight: Davis was hitting .196 but has a respectable 26 home runs, 72 RBI and 65 runs. On the other hand, fantasy owners were hoping for a repeat of last season's 53 homers and 138 RBI.

9/6/2014 9:35:00 PM
Description: Baltimore first baseman Chris Davis was 2-for-4 with his 26th home run of the season in a losing effort against Tampa Bay on Saturday.
Insight: Davis continues to be one of the biggest feast or famine starts in the league. He is hitting .196 but has a respectable 26 home runs, 72 RBI and 63 runs. Nothing will change down the stretch. Expect a lot or very little from the Orioles first baseman.

8/29/2014 10:14:00 PM
Description: Baltimore first baseman Chris Davis went 1-for-3 with a grand slam on Friday. He also scored twice and walked.
Insight: Davis has struggled, to say the least, as he is hitting just .189 in 407 at-bats, but he can still produce massive home runs on occasion. The long ball was his 24th of the season and he has 67 RBI as well.

8/28/2014 10:14:00 AM
Description: Baltimore first baseman Chris Davis is a career .407 hitter with two home runs versus Rays starter Jeremy Hellickson.
Insight: Davis is proving he was a bad bet to repeat last season's fantasy 53-HR, 138-RBI production. He can't get his batting average over .200 and he's hit just 23 long balls this season, so he may not be ready to take advantage of this favorable matchup.

8/27/2014 10:00:00 PM
Description: Baltimore first baseman Chris Davis went 1-for-3 with a solo homer Wednesday against Tampa Bay.
Insight: Davis was pretty bad in the first half, batting .199 with 15 homers, 48 RBI and a .700 OPS, and he's been worse since the All-Star break. In 120 at-bats, he has 20 hits (.167), eight homers and 14 RBI.

8/25/2014 10:17:00 PM
Description: Baltimore first baseman Chris Davis has gone 19-for-114 (.167) with seven homers, 13 RBI and 49 strikeouts in 33 games since the All-Star break.
Insight: Davis was four for his last 37 (.108) before going 1-for-3 with a solo homer Monday. He's hitting .190 with 22 homers, 61 RBI, 52 runs and a .683 OPS on the year and at this point fantasy owners need to consider dropping him.

8/17/2014 11:42:00 AM
Description: Baltimore first baseman Chris Davis will make another start at third base Sunday, his sixth of the season.
Insight: Davis' average is still below .200 on the year and he has 21 homers and 57 RBI in 366 at-bats, but third base eligibility could be important if he starts hitting down the stretch.

8/11/2014 10:51:00 PM
Description: Baltimore first baseman Chris Davis didn't start Monday, but he came in after Manny Machado sprained his right knee and went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer and two runs.
Insight: Davis' average is still below .200 on the year and he has 21 homers and 57 RBI in 355 at-bats.

8/11/2014 4:20:00 PM
Description: Baltimore first baseman Chris Davis is not in Monday's starting lineup.
Insight: Davis was just 1-for-13 in the recently completed series with St, Louis, though the one hit was a home run. He's still hitting below .200 with his 20 long balls.

8/5/2014 10:38:00 PM
Description: Baltimore first baseman Chris Davis went 1-for-3 with a homer, a walk and two RBI Tuesday.
Insight: Prior to Tuesday's game, Davis was 5-for-40 (.125) with 21 Ks in his last 13 games. Fantasy owners are in a tough spot with Davis. He's too good to drop and can go off at any time, but it's difficult to run him out there every day when he's hitting .196.

8/1/2014 3:50:00 PM
Description: Baltimore first baseman Chris Davis (flu) was not in the starting lineup Thursday, but is back in for Friday's matchup with Seattle, according to Roch Kubatko of MASNsports.com.
Insight: Davis (.198, 17 HR, 51 RBI) did pinch hit Thursday, so we knew he was close to returning. Now if his 2013 swing will find it's way back home then we'll really be happy.

7/31/2014 5:53:00 PM
Description: Baltimore first baseman Chris Davis (flu) is not in the lineup Thursday.
Insight: Davis (.199, 17 HR, 51 RBI) will miss his third straight game due to an illness.

Insight: Davis is away from the team due to illness and he'll miss his second straight game on Wednesday.

7/29/2014 4:20:00 PM
Description: Baltimore first baseman Chris Davis is not in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the LA Angels due to an illness.
Insight: We're still waiting for the 2013 version to show up. Davis is batting .199 with 17 HR and 51 RBI after blasting 53 homers last season.

Cold7/23/2014 12:35:00 PM
Description: Baltimore first baseman Chris Davis is 6-for-31 (.194) with zero home runs against Angels starter Jered Weaver.
Insight: Since June 7, Davis has batted .148 with seven home runs, 22 RBI and a .573 OPS with just three multi-hit efforts in 38 games. He shouldn't be used Wednesday.

Cold7/7/2014 10:55:00 PM
Description: Baltimore first baseman Chris Davis went 1-for-5 with a homer and two RBI Monday against the Nationals.
Insight: Davis is still just 3-for-39 (.077) in his last 11 games. He's hitting .201 with a .711 OPS, 14 homers and 44 RBI this season, a far cry from the MVP-type numbers he had in 2013.

Cold7/6/2014 11:24:00 AM
Description: Baltimore first baseman Chris Davis is not in Sunday's starting lineup.
Insight: Davis continues to struggle at the plate. We keep waiting for the 2013 version of Davis to appear (53 HR, 138 RBI), but it may never happen.

Cold7/5/2014 5:20:00 PM
Description: Baltimore first baseman Chris Davis continues to struggle at the plate, going hitless in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader with Boston.
Insight: Over his last 26 games, Davis is 12-for-91 (.132) with 36 strikeouts. We keep waiting for the 2013 version of Davis to appear (53 HR, 138 RBI), but it may never happen.

6/30/2014 3:23:00 PM
Description: Baltimore first baseman Chris Davis will serve as the team's third baseman Monday night with Manny Machado suspended for five games.
Insight: It will be his first start at the hot corner since 2011. If you league requires five games or less to be eligible this could be a huge break for Davis owners. Although not up to last year's standards, Davis still has 13 HR and 41 RBI in 66 games. He becomes much more valuable as a 3B.

6/23/2014 10:18:00 PM
Description: Baltimore first baseman Chris Davis hit a pinch-hit walk-off three-run homer off White Sox closer Ronald Belisario Monday night.
Insight: Davis received the night off with tough lefty Chris Sale on the mound for Chicago, but he still managed to have his most productive game since June 17. The first baseman hasn't had a multi-hit game since June 11 and is hitting just .219 with 13 homers, 40 RBI and 34 runs this season.
