Description: Pirates third baseman Josh Harrison started a new hitting streak on Tuesday against the Marlins.
Insight: Harrison saw his 11-game hitting streak snapped on Monday, but he went 2-for-4 with a double, RBI and two runs on Tuesday. It is probably no concidence that Harrison is hitting .414 in the last 16 games, and the Pirates are 10-6 over that span. In the last seven games, Harrison is 12-for-30 (.400) and Pittsburgh is 5-2.

Description: Pirates third baseman Josh Harrison had a great game at the plate on his bobblehead day.
Insight: The first 20,000 fans at PNC Park on Saturday received a Harrison bobblehead, and the third baseman celebrated his day going 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run in the, 8-2, victory over the Mets on Saturday. After nearly losing his job due to a posting a batting average below .180 through April, Harrison is hitting .261 with four home runs and 13 RBI in 153 at-bats.

Description: Pirates third baseman Josh Harrison went 4-for-6 as Pittsburgh scored 10 runs versus the Chicago Cubs on Friday.
Insight: Unfortunately, that wasn't enough as Pittsburgh lost, 11-10, but it is encouraging to see the Pirates offense break out of its shell. Harrison is a big part of the reason the team scored 10 on Friday. He had a single, two doubles and a homer. His bomb started the Pirates four-run rally in the eighth, and they tied the game at 10 in the ninth. Harrison is 9-for-16 with two home runs and four RBI in the last four games.

Description: Pirates third baseman Josh Harrison hit a home run in the, 7-2, victory over the Phillies on Tuesday.
Insight: It was a welcome site as Harrison has really struggled to start the year. He was 1-for-3 Tuesday with the three-run homer, two runs and a stolen base. It is clear that Harrison is not going to hit .315 again this season, but there is still time for him to turn his season around.

Description: Pirates third baseman Josh Harrison will sit out another game on Monday night.

5/10/2015 12:06:00 PM
Description: Pirates third baseman Josh Harrison will start at second base and leadoff for the Pirates on Sunday versus the Cardinals.
Insight: With Jung Ho Kang hitting so well and Harrison struggling, it is quite possible that Kang becomes the Pirates everyday third baseman while Harrison returns to a super-utility role. Regardless, it's still probably too early to give up on Harrison. There are a lot of factors that could be leading to this really bad slump, so if possible, store him on the bench.

Description: Pirates third baseman Josh Harrison is not in the lineup on Saturday versus the Cardinals.
Insight: Harrison is quickly finding himself in a platoon situation with Jung Ho Kang at third base. Both players are right-handed, so there currently isn't any rhyme or reason as to who starts what days. Harrison is batting just .178/.214/.290 this season.
