Description: Mariners starter Aaron Harang has been scratched from Thursday's start against the Yankees due to back stiffness, according to Shannon Drayer of 710 AM ESPN Seattle.
Insight: Harang had an 11.37 ERA in three April starts but has gone 1-1 with a 3.00 ERA and a 0.83 WHIP in two starts this month. Hector Noesi will make a spot start Thursday against his former ballclub.

4/11/2013 3:39:00 PM
Description: The Mariners acquired Aaron Harang from the Rockies for a reliever.
Insight: Harang was traded from the Dodgers to the Rockies last week but was immediately designated for assignment. Harang should join Seattle's starting rotation immediately upon his arrival but that doesn't necessarily mean he'll be useful to fantasy owners. Harang carried an abysmal strikeout to walk ratio in 2012 (131 K's to 85 free passes) and the AL West features some of the toughest lineups in baseball. For now, we'd recommend a wait and see approach with Harang.

4/6/2013 8:49:00 PM
Description: The Rockies have traded catcher Ramon Hernandez to the Dodgers for right-hander Aaron Harang, but Colorado designated Harang for assignment.
Insight: Harang went 10-10 with a 3.61 ERA and 1.40 WHIP last season but didn't have a spot in the Dodgers' rotation this year. The Rockies will look to trade him.

4/6/2013 4:45:00 PM
Description: The Rockies have traded catcher Ramon Hernandez to the Dodgers for right-hander Aaron Harang.
Insight: Harang went 10-10 with a 3.61 ERA and 1.40 WHIP last season but didn't have a spot in the Dodgers' rotation this year. This will be his third NL West team in the last three seasons, as he went 14-7 with a 3.64 ERA and 1.37 WHIP for the Padres in 2011. However, he had an extremely low 6.3 percent HR/FB last season, a number that will undoubtedly rise in the thin air of Colorado.

6/24/2012 8:32:00 PM
Description: Dodgers starter Aaron Harang allowed three runs on eight hits in a no decision against the Angels Sunday. He walked two and struck out none.
Insight: Harang bounced back from a horrific eight-walk start against Oakland his last time on the hill. The right-hander has walked 21 batters while striking out 24 in his last 33 2/3 innings, so he's a bit of a risk going forward.

6/6/2012 7:09:00 PM
Description: Dodgers starter Aaron Harang has been effective this season, going 4-3 with a 3.90 ERA in his career, but you're taking a big risk if you stream him Thursday at Philadelphia.
Insight: Harang has a 5.18 ERA and 1.67 WHIP in six career games at Citizens Bank Park. He has also pitched much better at home this season, going 1-1 with a 3.20 ERA and 1.14 WHIP in four starts at Dodgers Stadium and 3-2 with a 4.35 ERA and 1.47 WHIP in seven road starts.

4/8/2012 11:30:00 AM
Description: The Dodgers used a total of eight pitchers in Saturday night's 6-5 11-inning win over San Diego which means they might need Sunday's starter Aaron Harang to go deep into the game.
Insight: That's a dangerous situation if the pitcher doesn't have his best stuff. The good news is that the game is being played in cavernous Petco Park where Harang has a career 3.16 ERA in 23 games.

6/4/2011 11:56:00 PM
Description: Aaron Harang also won his sixth game of the season today, his fourth straight solid start in a row. Harang went 6 2/3 innings, allowing six hits and two walks. He struck out three.
Insight: Petco Park is having the effect on Harang that it has on most pitchers, its a great place to pitch. He's solid if not spectacular at the back end of your rotation. Maybe even a number three starter in a NL only league.

4/20/2011 9:17:00 PM
Description: Aaron Harang continued his winning streak in Wednesday's win over the Cubs
Insight: Harang's bounce-back season continues and should be added in all formats while he's pitching so well.

4/16/2011 9:10:00 AM
Description: Padres SP Aaron Harang improved to 3-0, picking up the win against the Astros yesterday. Harang allowed just one run over 6 innings, scattering 3 hits and a walk. He struck out 8 in the 4-1 victory.
Insight: Harang's first two victories where home at Petco Park so the fact that he did this on the road is even more impressive. A pitcher with a 0.94 WHIP, 1.50 ERA, and a 16:5 K:BB ratio is playable in any format.

4/6/2011 11:14:00 AM
Description: Padres SP Aaron Harang finished with six strikeouts, allowing one run on six hits and two walks in 6 innings of work. "He had all pitches working for him, which was a big thing," manager Bud Black. "They were all effective in different counts. He really did a good job changing speeds and keeping them off-balance." Insight:

3/25/2011 5:19:00 AM
Description: Aaron Harang allowed three runs over five innings in his final start of spring training.
Insight: He wasn't great during spring training but he wasn't terrible either and he should be helped by Petco Park in half his regular season starts. He is worth owning in deep mixed leagues but should start the season on the bench.

3/11/2011 9:03:00 PM
Description: Harang was shelled Wednesday by his former team, yielding seven hits -- including a pair of home runs -- and seven earned runs over three innings of work.
Insight: Harang, who has allowed plenty of homers throughout his career, should be tickled to get to Petco. We can't overrate this outing, in which he admitted to bringing a bit of "nervous adrenaline," but keep an eye on the next couple. Harang carries fantasy-sleeper potential if he can get his WHIP back down from a career-high 1.59 last year. (RapidDraft.com)

3/2/2011 8:13:00 PM
Description: Aaron Harang pitched 2 perfect innings against the rockies in his Padres debut.
Insight: Harang will be a nice value pick this year. He's a fly ball pitcher in an extreme pitchers ballpark and could be had at the end of your draft. Look for him to bounce back.

2/14/2011 12:03:00 AM
Description: Harang told the San Diego Union-Tribune recently that his struggles of the past two and a half seasons can be traced back to a 2008 relief appearance.
Insight: Harang says the workload that created got his arm fatigued, which in turn led to bad tweaks to his mechanics and getting away from his game. Now with the Padres, he says he feels good. He'll have to prove to fantasy owners that he's back, but Harang will be very cheap and draft time and could deliver on a low-risk late shot. (RapidDraft.com)

12/4/2010 1:34:00 PM
Description: The Padres have signed SP Aaron Harang to a one-year deal. SOURCE: ESPN.com
Insight: Harang struggled in 2010 but a move to spacious Petco Park should help...though the Padres may struggle to score runs now that Adrian Gonzalez is on his way to Boston.

12/3/2010 8:01:00 PM
Description: Aaron Harang has signed with San Diego. SOURCE: MSNBC
Insight: Terms of the deal are not yet known. A year in Petco Park is just what Harang needed to try to get his career back on track. Consider him a late round sleeper.

11/4/2010 1:00:00 AM
Description: MLBlogs.com reports the Reds have declined Harang's $12.75 million option for 2011.
Insight: Not a big surprise here, as Harang had a 5.32 ERA over 111 innings this season. (RapidDraft.com)

11/3/2010 3:54:00 PM
Description: Aaron Harang is a free agent after the Reds declined his 2011 option. SOURCE: MLBLOGS
Insight: He will be lucky to get a major league deal after a poor 2010 season. He will have to fight for a rotation spot somewhere.

9/10/2010 7:49:00 PM
Description: The Reds have moved P Aaron Harang into their bullpen. SURCE: Yahoo Sports
Insight: With Edinson Volquez returning, Harang is the odd-man out; it is safe to drop him in all formats.
