Oakland Athletics (35-25) at Milwaukee Brewers (22-35), 2:10 p.m.
Probable Starting Pitchers: Oakland - Bartolo Colon (6-2, 3.33) Milwaukee - Yovani Gallardo (4-5, 5.05)
(Sports Network) - Streaking veteran Bartolo Colon goes for a fourth consecutive victory on Wednesday afternoon when the Oakland Athletics visit Miller Park to close out a three-game interleague series with the Milwaukee Brewers.
A 40-year-old as of May 24, Colon was 3-2 on the year after a no-decision on May 14 in a game the Athletics lost, 6-5, to the Texas Rangers.
He's been brilliant in three starts since, winning all three, while allowing just two runs on 20 hits in 23 innings against Texas, Houston and the Chicago White Sox.
The victories were Nos. 175, 176 and 177 in a big-league career that began with the Cleveland Indians in 1997 and has seen him win double-digit games 10 times while pitching for seven teams.
Colon last lost in Cleveland on May 9, when he went just four innings and gave up six runs on eight hits.
The Athletics are 7-3 in his last 10 starts.
He's opposed by Brewers ace Yovani Gallardo, who faces the Athletics for the first time in his 161st big-league start.
Gallardo had lost four consecutive starts between May 10-26 before breaking through with an 8-5 win at Philadelphia on May 31.
In that win, he allowed five runs on six hits in 5 2/3 innings. In his four losses, the Brewers had been outscored 15-9.
His last home victory came on April 29 against Pittsburgh and he's 2-2 in seven starts at Miller Park this season.
On Tuesday, Yuniesky Betancourt drove in the game-winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning to help the Brewers defeat Oakland, 4-3.
Carlos Gomez's fielder's choice groundout put a runner on first with two outs in the 10th before Betancourt smacked a line drive to right-center, scoring Gomez from first for the deciding run off Oakland's Pat Neshek (1-1).
John Axford (2-3) picked up the win after working around a walk in the top of the 10th. Jean Segura drove in two runs with a triple as part of a three-run eighth inning and Aramis Ramirez tied the game at 3-3 with a one-out RBI bloop single.
"It was a fun game," Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said. "We had a hit and run going at the time when Betancourt drove in Gomez. The bullpen came through."
Yoenis Cespedes recorded his first career multi-homer game, accounting for all of Oakland's offense, scoring two runs and driving in three off his two homers in the setback.
The Athletics had won 15 of 17 following Monday's 10-2 trouncing in the series opener, while Milwaukee snapped a five-game home losing streak.
The Athletics and Brewers last met in 2002, when Oakland won three straight games. They won six of the 11 games played in 1997, while Milwaukee last won the series, 7-5, in 1996.
