Phoenix, AZ (Sports Network) - Homer Bailey yielded just one hit over six
shutout innings in leading a Cincinnati Reds split squad to a 9-0 decision
over the Arizona Diamondbacks in an exhibition tilt from Chase Field.
Bailey gave up only a third-inning single to Cliff Pennington and a walk to
Gerardo Parra later in the frame. The right-hander added seven strikeouts in
his final outing prior to the start of the regular season.
Ray Chang went 2-for-2 with three RBI for the Reds, who will host the Los
Angeles Angels on Monday's Opening Day. Chris Heisey added two hits and a pair
of RBI to the rout, while Todd Frazier finished 2-for-3 and chipped in a run-
Arizona starter Wade Miley worked six innings, surrendering four runs on nine
hits while fanning three.
The Diamondbacks begin the regular season at home against St. Louis on Monday.
