GAME NOTES: The final round of the inaugural Wooden Legacy moves to the Honda Center in Anaheim today, as Cal State Fullerton locks up with the College of Charleston in one of the last meetings of the event.

Fullerton had been hosting the event at Titan Gym earlier in the week, but the team still struggled against the likes of Marquette and Miami, losing to both by margins of 20 and two points, respectively. The team is now dealing with a four-game slide as a result.

Meanwhile, the Cougars also hit the skids in Fullerton on Thursday and Friday, as the team first bowed to San Diego State on Thanksgiving (72-52) and was then blown out by Arizona State a day later (80-58), which means Charleston has suffered four losses in the last five outings.

This is the first-ever meeting between these two programs.

Unlike the meeting with the Golden Eagles a day earlier, at least Fullerton had a fighting chance versus Miami on Friday before going down in the two- point decision. The Titans bounced back from an awful shooting performance in the first half when they converted just 29.2 percent from the floor and 11.1 percent behind the 3-point line, but still the team ran out of time. Michael Williams scored a game-high 15 points and Sheldon Blackwell came up with 13 and six assists in the losing effort.

Right now the problem with the Titans is that their leading scorer, Alex Harris (17.7 ppg), is listed as day-to-day with a right ankle sprain and when he is not on the floor that means the active leading scorer for the group is Williams with his 14.1 ppg. Unfortunately, not only is Williams the only active double-digit scorer for the group, he is achieving that status by shooting just 39.4 percent from the field and 28.6 percent beyond the arc for a unit that is generating 67.7 ppg.

The defense for the Cougars allowed Arizona State to shoot not only 53.7 percent from the floor on Friday, but also 8-of-19 (.421) beyond the arc, making it that much easier for the Sun Devils to take care of Charleston. While ASU was turning the ball over just five times, the Cougars were fumbling it away on 15 occasions, with the Sun Devils turning those miscues into 22 points. Anthony Stitt scored 12 points to lead CofC, followed by Adjehi Baru who came up a rebound shy of a double-double as he tallied 11 points before fouling out.

Scoring just 63.1 ppg on the season, Charleston's lone double-digit scorer at the moment is Canyon Barry with his 12.4 ppg, although he is shooting just 39.2 percent from the floor and 27.3 percent out on the perimeter. Baru (9.3 ppg) gives the group some punch in the paint with his 7.6 rpg, but having fouled out of two games means he's been a bit too physical at times.

Both of these teams have their issues when it comes to offense, but the Titans might be worse off if Harris is still unable to take the floor this afternoon.
