GAME NOTES: The Toledo Rockets will try to extend a five-game win streak as they travel to face the Miami-Ohio RedHawks in Mid-American Conference action at Millett Hall.

Toledo began the season 12-0 before losing two straight games. Since that two- game skid, the Rockets have won five in a row - all in MAC play. Toledo escaped Kent State with a victory Sunday, 81-78, to hold on to the MAC West Division lead at 5-1.

Miami has won three straight games following a two-game losing streak. The RedHawks are 4-2 in MAC play this season, and are a game behind Akron for the MAC East Division lead. Miami is coming off a 70-65 win over Bowling Green.

The RedHawks hold the lead in the all-time series against Toledo, 68-52. This is the first and only time these two MAC teams will meet during the regular season.

Toledo held just a one-point advantage against Kent State in the team's most recent outing, and managed to outscore the Golden Flashes 44-42 in the second half to hang on for the three-point win. Justin Drummond was the high scorer for the Rockets against Kent State, notching 15 points, including nine from the free-throw line. Rian Pearson scored 11 and grabbed 10 rebounds for the double-double, while both Julius Brown and J.D. Weatherspoon each contributed 14 points.

Pearson, Drummond and Brown are all within one point of each other for the team lead in scoring. Pearson tops the squad with 14.5 ppg, while Drummond is right behind him at 14.4 ppg and Brown checks in at 14.2 ppg. Drummond has the best shooting percentage of the three players at 53.2 percent. Brown tops the team in assist totals with 124 on the year, while Pearson leads the team with 32 steals. Weatherspoon has a team-high 6.3 rpg average.

Bowling Green was able to outscore Miami in the second half of Saturday's action, but the Redhawks built up enough of a lead in the first half, 36,28, to be able to sustain the Falcons' push. Will Sullivan and Willie Moore each scored 16 points to lead the RedHawks in the game, while Will Felder chipped in 12 and Quinten Rollins scored 10. The RedHawks shot 46.7 percent from the floor in the contest.

Felder leads the team in scoring this season with a 15.1 ppg average on 55.2 percent shooting from the floor, and a team-best 7.2 rpg. Since returning to the team five games ago, Bill Edwards has averaged 10.4 ppg on 47.7 percent shooting. Rollins is the team leader in assists with 69 on the year and a team-best 44 steals. Miami is averaging 67.1 ppg through its 17 contests.

Even though the RedHhawks have the home advantage, Toledo has played some great basketball all season long, both at home and on the road. The Rockets pride themselves on solid defense, and still average over 83 points per outing.
