Youngstown, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - Chris Horton posted a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds for the Austin Peay Governors, who nudged past the Youngstown State Penguins 88-86 at the Beeghly Center.

Horton knocked down 8-of-11 from the field, and Travis Betran notched a team- high 24 points while shooting 7-of-7 from the free-throw line for the Governors (4-3). Zavion Williams delivered 20 points off the bench on 8-of-11 from the floor. Demarius Smith contributed 10 assists and six points.

Kendrick Perry scored a game-high 32 points for the Penguins (6-3), making 8- of-17 from the field and 13-of-16 from the line, and the guard also swiped six steals. Kamren Belin (14 points), Marcus Keene (12) and Bobby Hain (11) also added double-digit scoring performances.

The teams traded blows in the first half, which saw several lead changes. At halftime, the Governors claimed a narrow 46-45 lead, after shooting a lofty 64.3 percent from the field, a bit more consistent than the Penguins' 51.7 percent. Betran had already accumulated 15 points by the end of the half.

Austin Peay continued its solid field goal shooting performance in the second half (.531). Youngstown State held an 85-84 lead with two minutes to play before Betran sank two free throws to pull the Governors ahead for good.

In a tight game which saw 24 lead changes, the Governors were able to hit more shots from the field, pull in more rebounds and outscore their opponent 46-30 in the paint.
