(Saturday, November 24) Final Score: Alaska-Anchorage 83, Loyola Marymount 77 Anchorage, AK (Sports Network) - Teancum Stafford led four teammates in double figures with 19 points as the Alaska-Anchorage Seawolves edged by the Loyola Marymount Lions, 83-77, in the final round of the Great Alaska Shootout at Sullivan Center. Stafford was 8-of-13 shooting from the floor, including 3-of-5 from three- point range, to go with four assists and six rebounds for UAA (6-1). Colton Lauwers scored 14 points, while Kyle Fossman and Abebe Demissie contributed 12 points a piece. For the Lions (3-3), Anthony Ireland had a game-high 26 points, making good on 3-of-4 shots beyond the arc. Ashley Hamilton added 16 points and Nick Stover contributed 11 points off the bench in the setback. UAA started the game on a 12-1 run, eventually taking a 35-29 lead into intermission. It was able to hold the Lions to just 7-of-26 from the floor in the first 20 minutes of play. The Seawolves got hot from the floor in the second half, making 14-of-23 field goal attempts, including 8-of-11 from three-point range, as they held off a late Loyola comeback attempt.
