GAME NOTES: Georgia Southern will try to average a tough loss to Elon from earlier this month, but the Phoenix are hitting their stride at just the right time as they bring a six-game win streak into Saturday's Southern Conference matchup.

On Feb. 8, Elon edged Georgia Southern in a 60-59 final on Jack Isenbarger's late 3-pointer, which was the fourth win in the team's current run of success.

Isenbarger had 17 points against UNC Greensboro on Wednesday in leading Elon to an 81-68 triumph. Sebastian Koch added 15 points and six assists for the Phoenix, while Ryley Beaumont and Lucas Troutman tacked on 13 points apiece.

Elon is near the top of the SoCon standings for good reason, as the team has been productive on offense, ranking high in both scoring (76.2 ppg) and field goal percentage (.469), while accounting for more assists (14.2 apg) than any other team in the league. Troutman (15.6 ppg, 6.4 rpg) is the top offensive threat and one of three players averaging in double figures. Koch (12.9 ppg, 5.1 rpg) and Beaumont (10.6 ppg) are the others.

Georgia Southern, meanwhile, snapped a four-game skid on Thursday as Tre Bussey poured in 25 points and Jelani Hewitt netted 24 in a 77-61 road win over Chattanooga. Angel Matias added 14 points, while Marvin Baynham pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds.

Hewitt leads the league is scoring with 20.6 ppg and steals with 2.3 per contest. Bussey is also in the top-10 in SoCon scoring with 15.9 ppg for the Eagles, who average 72 ppg.

Elon is just two wins away from matching the longest winning streak in its Division I era. A victory on Saturday gets the Phoenix a step closer, but Hewitt and Bussey will have something to say about that, especially considering the heartbreaking way the Eagles exited the last time these two met.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Georgia Southern 75, Elon 70
