NCAA Game Summary - Charlotte at Richmond

Richmond, VA (Sports Network) - A Cedric Lindsay layup with 15.8 seconds remaining proved to be the game-winner as the Richmond Spiders escaped with a 53-52 win over the Charlotte 49ers in Atlantic 10 Conference play at the Robins Center.
Lindsay finished the evening with just seven points for the Spiders (14-14, 5-8 A-10) as they snapped a two-game slide. Leading the way for the hosts on offense was Kendall Anthony with 17 points off the bench, while Darrius Garrett contributed 12 rebounds, even though he was held without a single shot attempt from the field over the course of 37 minutes.
The 49ers (12-13, 4-8) were paced by Chris Braswell with 16 points and a game- high 13 rebounds in the team's second straight setback. Javarris Barnett contributed 10 points and DeMario Mayfield seven points and 11 boards in a reserve role.
Charlotte led by three points early on in the meeting, but the team ended up shooting just 8-of-24 from the floor, en route to a 25-19 deficit at the break.
In the second half the 49ers converted a more healthy 44.4 percent from the field, but the squad knocked down just 7-of-13 at the free-throw line and missed a couple of putback chances in the waning moments before accepting the one-point loss.
Richmond picked up the victory despite shooting only 38.3 percent from the floor and turning the ball over 19 times.
