St. Louis, MO (Sports Network) - Cody Ellis had 14 points and six rebounds to pace Saint Louis to a 64-50 win over Richmond, as the Billikens remained hot in Atlantic 10 play.
Kwamain Mitchell posted 11 points and Mike McCall Jr. 10 with five assists for Saint Louis (21-5, 9-3 A-10), which has won five in a row. The Billikens are 13-1 at Chaifetz Arena this season. In four years at Chaifetz Arena, SLU has a 54-15 record.
Darien Brothers was the lone player in double figures for the Spiders (13-14, 4-8), who lost for the fifth time in six contests. Richmond shot just 35.3 percent from the field, including 1-of-15 from three-point range.
Saint Louis led by as many as 12 late in the first half and went to the break holding a 31-22 cushion. A jumper from Brothers trimmed the margin to 44-41 with 6:28 left, but the Billikens then pulled away.
After Brothers missed a potential go-ahead three-point shot, the Billikens scored seven in a row. Cory Remekun started the burst with a dunk and Mitchell capped it with a three-pointer to seal the outcome.
Saint Louis held a 38-24 rebounding advantage and never trailed.
