Hoffman Estates, IL (Sports Network) - Kelvin Martin and Kenny Mitchell each scored 15 points, as the Charleston Southern Buccaneers cruised to an 89-54 win over the Southern University Jaguars in the final round of the Chicago Invitational Challenge at the Sears Center.
Jamarco Warren added 14 points while Sheldon Strickland scored 12 and dished out seven assists to help Charleston Southern (3-4) snap a three-game slide.
Julius Ingram scored a team-high 14 points for the Jaguars (1-7), who have now lost five in a row. Brandon White joined him in double figures with 12 points.
Charleston Southern shot a blistering 58.1 percent from the floor in the first half to race out to a 53-22 halftime lead.
The Buccaneers coasted from there, holding Southern to 36.7-percent shooting in the second stanza.
Southern committed 21 turnovers for the game, which led to 28 points for Charleston Southern.
