Description: Updating a previous item, Wynn's agent reports he has been promoted from the 49ers' practice squad.
Insight: Wynn will be third on 49ers' RB depth chart with Frank Gore (hip) out for the season, and is unlikely to make a major fantasy impact. (

Description: Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area reports the 49ers could promote Wynn from their practice squad with Frank Gore (fractured hip) likely headed to injured reserve.
Insight: Wynn would be unlikely to see a lot of touches if he is promoted to the active roster. (

Description: The Saints have signed RB DeShawn Wynn off the practice squad. SOURCE: TWITTER
Insight: This could be a sign that the team is preparing without Pierre Thomas (ankle) against the Panthers. If Thomas is out, expect Ladell Betts to get the nod after taking first-string snaps in practice this week. Chris Ivory could be the short-yardage/goal-line back.
9/21/2010 2:02:00 PM
Description: With Reggie Bush (right leg) out for for six weeks, Wynn could become Pierre Thomas' primary backup.
Insight: Wynn is not a good fantasy option right now, but could be a name to keep an eye on. (

Description: Agent David Canter reports, via Twitter, that the Saints have signed Wynn.
Insight: Wynn previously played for the Packers, and is unlikely to have a significant role with New Orleans even if he does manage to stick. (Rapid

Description: According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Wynn said he hopes to (and probably will?) re-sign with the Packers despite drawing interest from the Seahawks and Browns.
Insight: Wynn was not tendered as a restricted free agent, which probably speaks to how the Packers value him and may mean they don't want him back. (

Description: According to Rob Demovsky of the Green Bay Press Gazette, the Packers have placed Wynn (knee) on IR , ending his 2009 season.
Insight: Wynn being done for the season opened the door for the Packers to bring back Ahman Green. (
Out10/16/2009 4:30:00 PM
Description: According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Wynn (knee) has been ruled out for Week 6 against Detroit.
Insight: With Brandon Jackson (ankle) now healthy, Wynn would likely be losing his role as Ryan Grant's backup even if he was healthy. (
Questionable10/14/2009 6:16:00 PM
Description: According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Wynn (knee) missed practice on Wednesday.
Insight: Wynn appears to be losing his role as Ryan Grant's back to a now healthy Brandon Jackson anyway. (
8/7/2009 11:00:00 AM
Description: One of the Packers' beat writers has suggested that Wynn could cut into Ryan Grant's carries this season if he can stay healthy. ( via The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel)
Insight: It's a little early for anything to be decided, but Wynn does have good size (232 lbs.) and could fall into some goalline duty at least if he can be healthy. But he has only played 12 games in the past two seasons, so being healthy is not a foregone conclusion for Wynn.
7/26/2009 12:20:00 AM
Description: The Wisconsin State Journal reports that RB coach Edgar Bennett has been pleased by Wynn's improved preparation and self-discipline this off-season.
Insight: Wynn has provided flashes of production in short stints in the Packer backfield. He could become a more frequent factor if he stays in shape, though he'll still need others to get hurt before he really offers any fantasy value. (
4/14/2009 11:39:00 PM
Description: Wynn finally got eight carries in the final two games of 2008 after garnering only a single touch through the first 14 contests.
Insight: He saw time only when Brandon Jackson went out with injury, but Wynn did break off a 73-yard touchdown run in the final game. He was a much more significant contributor as a rookie in 2007, even taking over the starting job before heading to injured reserve. Wynn will likely battle Kregg Lumpkin for the No. 3 spot on the running back depth chart, which doesn't equate to a ton of fantasy value without some big help from injuries. (
