Description: It now appears that Buccaneers WR Maurice Stovall has emerged as the favorite to start at flanker.
SOURCE: TAMPA TRIBUNE
Insight: According to WRs coach Eric Yarber, "Right now Stovall is with the 1s. He's having a real good camp." Stovall is more of a possession-type player who lacks playmaking skills, but he has the hands needed for the short-to-medium throws the team plans to use more of this year. We still think Arrelious Benn will eventually beat him out.

Description: According to Pewter Report, the Buccaneers have offered Stovall a free agent tender at the "original pick" level.
Insight: This means a team would have to give Tampa Bay a third round pick to sign Stovall. He is likely to be the Buccaneers' No.4 wide receiver next season, and not much more than a special teams contributor. (SportsBuff.com)
12/7/2009 12:17:00 PM
Description: Stovall had four receptions for 68 yards in Tampa Bay's loss to Carolina on Sunday.
Insight: Stovall was fairly productive starting in place of Michael Clayton (knee), but is still not a good fantasy option. (SportsBuff.com)
12/4/2009 7:56:00 PM
Description: Stovall (thigh) is listed as probable this week.
Insight: He will start, but he has no real value. Carolina is more than capable of shutting down Tampa Bay through the air, so don't bother with him. (SportsBuff.com)
12/1/2009 10:51:00 AM
Description: Stovall is expected to start while Michael Clayton (left knee) is out.
Insight: Clayton is expected to miss up to two weeks with a sprained MCL. Stovall is not a great fantasy option even with the promotion. (SportsBuff.com)
9/23/2009 8:30:00 PM
Description: According to the Tampa Tribune, Stovall (knee) did not participate in Wednesday's practice.
Insight: More should be known about Stovall's status should be known later in the week. The Buccaneers will be thin this week at WR if Stovall and Antonio Bryant (left knee) are out for Sunday's game against the New York Giants. (SportsBuff.com)
9/18/2009 11:59:00 AM
Description: According to Buccaneers.com, if WR Antonio Bryant (left knee) can't go on Sunday against Buffalo, the team would use Stovall as part of a three receiver rotation in his place.
Insight: A rotation limits the fantasy value of all involved, so Stovall, Sammie Stroughter and Brian Clark are not worth fantasy consideration. (SportsBuff.com)
5/26/2009 11:16:00 PM
Description: The St. Petersburg Times reports that Stovall is having a hard time getting over a back injury.
Insight: This might be interesting if he'd given us any reason to believe he'll be worth something to fantasy players. (SportsBuff.com)
4/21/2009 7:38:00 PM
Description: Stovall appeared in the first five games of the season last year before being placed on IR with a hamstring injury. He finished the year with three catches for 25 yards.
Insight: Stovall has little fantasy value heading into 2009 and will need to prove he can stay healthy. (SportsBuff.com)
