Description: DE/LB Matt Roth agreed to terms on a one-year, $3 million deal Thursday, but the team decided not to have him sign it until today so they didn't have to cut a player before the preseason opener.

Insight: Roth is better in a 3-4 scheme at OLB, but the Jags believe he can bulk up and play 4-3 DE for them. He'll help the Jags in the run game for sure, but they also expect him to be able to put some pressure on opposing QBs. Roth isn't likely going to be a starting LB in most standard IDP leagues, but in deeper leagues he could make some noise. Last season he posted four sacks, 59 tackles and 27 assists.

Description: Roth has returned to practicing in individual drill, but he is still not back to full practices with the team as his groin injury is healing.
Insight: Roth may have lost serious ground on his starting job with Jason Taylor back in the mix. Keep an eye on how he plays during the preseason before deciding where to rank him for a draft that uses IDP's. (sportsBuff.com)
