Description: Panthers TE Jeremy Shockey says he feels better than he did the last two years in New Orleans.
SOURCE: CHARLOTTE OBSERVER
Insight: "I feel like a different person compared to what I was doing last year in New Orleans and the year before in New Orleans." The big question is how long Shockey can remain healthy once the 2011 season kicks off? As an aging veteran on a suspect offense, Shockey is nowhere near the fantasy prospect he used to be.

Description: TE Jeremy Shockey has signed a two-year deal with the Panthers.
SOURCE: CBS SPORTS
Insight: Shockey chose Carolina over Miami, who showed interest immediately after he was cut by the Saints. Shockey is reunited with OC Rob Chudzinski, who called plays for the Miami Hurricanes while Shockey was in college. Even though Chudzinski has shown he can get a lot out of his tight ends, Shockey still isn't a fantasy option.

Description: The Dolphins gave free agent TE Jeremy Shockey a physical Thursday, which he passed.
Insight: Shockey is nothing more than a name, which the Dolphins may try to capitalize on since he is a former Hurricane. He is not an upgrade over Anthony Fasano.

Description: According to his player rep, free agent TE Jeremy Shockey would be "very interested" in joining the Dolphins.
Insight: Miami doesn't need an aging, injury-prone player like Shockey when they already have Anthony Fasano on the cheap. Shockey will have to look elsewhere.

Description: The Saints revealed the sad news that they are cutting ties with my greasy-haired hero, tight end Jeremy Shockey. While there's nothing shocking about the Shockey diss, that doesn't make it hurt any less. In his short time with the team, it didn't take much for old Goldilocks to quickly become one of my favorites. I mean, who else have you seen in a black and gold uniform "riding the bull" after a big play? Below, I reflect on some of my favorite moments of Jeremy Shockey's tenure with the "Who Dat" nation. Join me, won't you?

Description: The Saints have released TE Jeremy Shockey.
Insight: Shockey is a shell of the player who made spectacular catches as a Giant. He is nothing more than a blocker with below-average catching ability. Jimmy Graham owners should rejoice. His fantasy status takes a nice climb with Shockey out of the picture.

Description: Larry Holder of CBS Sports.com reports, via Twitter, that Shockey (knee) returned to the practice field on Thursday after missing seven practices with a knee injury.

Description: The New Orleans Times Picayune reports Shockey (knee) returned to practice on Monday.
Insight: Shockey reportedly blamed his short absence on "hiting knees" with a teammate. His durability has to be a concern heading into the season, especially since he has never played a full 16 games in his career. (Rapid Draft.com)
