Description: San Francisco receiver Mario Manningham's season came to an end in Week 16 after suffering an ACL injury.
Insight: Manningham wasn't a reliable every-week performer with Alex Smith or Colin Kaepernick under center. The 49ers will use a combination of Randy Moss and rookie A.J. Jenkins across from their No. 1 option Michael Crabtree.

Description: San Francisco receiver Mario Manningham (shoulder) is inactive Sunday.
Insight: Manningham hasn't been a reliable every-week performer, even with Colin Kaepernick under center. Perhaps we'll finally see an A.J. Jenkins sighting.

12/3/2012 2:47:00 PM
Description: San Francisco receiver Mario Manningham is questionable for Sunday's game against Miami after leaving this weekend's game in the fourth quarter with a sore shoulder.
Insight: Manningham has caught five balls in each of the past two games, the ones started by Colin Kaepernick. Michael Crabtree and Vernon Davis would benefit from Manningham's absence.

3/18/2012 9:08:00 AM
Description: Mario Manningham has signed a two-year deal with the San Francisco 49ers.
Insight: The Super Bowl XLVI hero is headed to San Francisco, where he and Randy Moss will form a rejuvenated receiving corps for the 49ers. Manningham's fantasy stock should improve now that he is no longer playing in the shadows of Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz. Whoever is San Francisco's quarterback in 2012 (likely either Peyon Manning or Alex Smith) should benefit from Moss and Manningham's presence.

Description: In Giants pre-game warmups ahead of Monday night's game, Ramses Barden is working in three-receiver sets along with Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz. Source: Mike Garafolo via Twitter
Insight: Manningham is not participating in drills, so it's looking like Ramses Barden will be the slot receiver with Victor Cruz and Hakeem Nicks lining up outside. Nicks is a solid WR1 with Cruz being a solid WR2.

Description: Mario Manningham (concussion) participated in Giants practice once again Thursday. Source: Ralph Vacchiano via Twitter
Insight: A definite good sign that he was able to practice and not suffer any concussion symptom setbacks. He's set to start against the Cardinals and a pass defense that's allowing over 275 YPG.

Insight: Manningham suffered a concussion in Week 2 which kept him out of Week 3.

Insight: Victor Cruz gets the start in his place opposite Hakeen Nicks and isn't much of a fantasy play against the Eagle secondary.

Description: Mario Manningham (concussion) was not at Giants practice Thursday. Source: Mike Garafolo via Twitter
Insight: Manningham is still waiting to receive clearance from doctors to play this Monday. Victor Cruz and Brandon Stokely are in line to receive more playing time regardless of whether or not Manningham is on the field. Manningham owners should be prepared to have other options.

8/17/2011 5:53:00 PM
Description: Appearing on WFAN Radio Wednesday, coach Tom Coughlin suggested that Mario Manningham will be the Giants' slot receiver if Victor Cruz or rookie Jerrel Jernigan doesn't step up to fill the role. Source: Gregg Rosenthal via Twitter
Insight: Manningham would move to the inside for Giants' three WR sets and the Giants aren't trusting Victor Cruz or Jerrell Jernigan to handle the duties in the slot. Manningham's PPR value would get a nice bump.

Description: Giants HC Tom Coughlin suggested that WR Mario Manningham will be the Giants' slot receiver if Victor Cruz or rookie Jerrel Jernigan doesn't step up to fill the role. SOURCE: TWITTER
Insight: If this is the case, Domenik Hixon and Hakeem Nicks would be the outside wideouts with Manningham moving inside for three-receiver sets. What scares me is the fact that the Giants are even contemplating Domenik Hixon over Mario Manningham in any situation.

Description: Giants WR Mario Manningham (heel) was able to fully practice on Friday. SOURCE: TWITTER
Insight: Manningham (probable) will start, barring a setback, but he is nothing more than a WR3 against a strong Packers passing defense.

12/22/2010 2:20:00 PM
Description: Giants WR Mario Manningham (hip) was running gingerly and had a slight limp in practice Wednesday. SOURCE: TWITTER
Insight: Manningham dealt with a hip flexor going into the game against the Eagles, but still racked up 113 receiving yards and two touchdowns. We will keep owners updated, but there doesn't seem to be any reason why Manningham would be considered doubtful against the Packers.

12/22/2010 12:05:00 PM
Description: Tom Rock of NY Newsday reports Manningham (heel) is listed on the Giants' Wednesday pre-practice injury report with a heel injury.
Insight: Manningham had a big game in Week 15 (eight catches, 113 yards, two touchdowns) and this does not appear to be a huge concern at this point. (RapidDraft.com)

12/16/2010 4:05:00 PM
Description: Mike Garafalo of the Newark Star Ledger reports Manningham (hip flexor) returned to a limited practice on Thursday.
Insight: Manningham could get the start opposite Hakeem Nicks if he can play Sunday against the Eagles, but he is a very risky fantasy option. (RapidDraft.com)

12/15/2010 2:39:00 PM
Description: Giants WR Mario Manningham says he will play against the Eagles Sunday night, despite dealing with a hip flexor. SOURCE: TWITTER
Insight: Manningham said he was going to play all along, even before it was announced that Steve Smith (knee) was out for the year. It's good news for Hakeem Nicks owners since now the Eagles will have to account for Manningham and not Derek Hagan.

12/15/2010 12:01:00 PM
Description: Tom Rock of NY Newsday reports Manningham's hip flexor injury is not as bad as previously thought and he could be ready to play this weekend.
Insight: With Steve Smith (knee) now out for the season, Manningham could have a significant role if he is healthy enough to play over the last couple weeks of the regular season. (RapidDraft.com)

12/14/2010
Description: Manningham (hip) left Monday night's game against the Vikings with a hip flexor strain.
Insight: Manningham was injured on his only catch of the game, and his status for Week 15 against the Eagles is unknown. (RapidDraft.com)

12/6/2010 5:59:00 PM
Description: Giants QB Eli Manning is reportedly frustrated with WR Mario Manningham. SOURCE: NEWARK STAR-LEDGER
Insight: Manningham's option routes during Sunday's game against the Redskins didn't sit well with Manning, but the big win cured all. However, things like this shows that Manningham's future will likely be nothing more than a third receiver. Manningham disappointed fantasy owners, catching two passes for 26 yards.

12/4/2010 4:47:00 PM
Description: The Giants are expected to "lean heavily" on WR Mario Manningham with both WR Steve Smith (pectoral tear) and WR Hakeem Nicks (leg) out against the Redskins. SOURCE: NEW YORK DAILY NEWS
Insight: This isn't surprising, but we were surprised Manningham wasn't used as much against the Jaguars last week. He did have three catches for 61 yards and a touchdown, but expect more looks this week against a shaky Redskins secondary.
