Description: The Saints have brought Robert Meachem back on a one-year contract.
Insight: Meachem was basically invisible last season, hauling in just 16 catches for 324 yards over 15 games. He's not on the fantasy radar.

Description: Don't expect the Saints' newest receiver Robert Meachem to be a factor right away. SOURCE: New Orleans Times-Picayune
Insight: Meachem, who signed with New Orleans after being cut by the Chargers over the weekend, is currently listed at No. 4 on the team's wide receiver depth chart. It's a testament to the confidence Sean Payton has in fifth-round pick Kenny Stills from Oklahoma. Stills, the team's No. 3 wideout, is a burner with 4.3 speed and a penchant for big plays. Perhaps the threat of Stills will motivate Meachem to have a big year.

Description: Free agent wide receiver Robert Meachem appears to be ready to sign with the Saints.
Insight: Meachem played with New Orleans from 2008-11. His best season was in 2009 when he caught 45 balls for 722 yards and nine scores - all career bests. He was a bust in San Diego and likely won't get that much work in New Orleans. He would be added depth after the team lost wideout Joe Morgan to injury.

Description: Chargers receiver Robert Meachem (hamstring) is active for Sunday's game against Tampa Bay.
Insight: The receiver just hasn't clicked with Philip Rivers this season but if ever there was a game for him to put up fantasy-worthy numbers, it is against Tampa Bay. Meachem might be worth a flier.
11/1/2012 7:19:00 PM
Description: Chargers receivers Robert Meachem (hamstring) and Eddie Royal (hamstring) are inactive for Thursday night's game versus Kansas City.
Insight: Meachem might as well be inactive for a lack of hands. The receiver just hasn't clicked with Philip Rivers this season and he dropped a wide-open catch that would have resulted in a long touchdown Sunday against the Browns.
10/8/2012 9:43:00 AM
Description: Chargers receiver Robert Meachem finally broke out Sunday night, catching three passes for 67 yards and two touchdown passes against his former team, the New Orleans Saints.
Insight: We're still not sold on Meachem as a viable fantasy receiver. He only has nine receptions in five games, going catchless in two of them. And if anyone should know how to beat the Saints' coverage down the field, it should be Meachem, who practiced against that defense and watched them play on Sundays from 2007-11.
8/4/2012 10:01:00 PM
Description: According to the North County Times, returning Chargers receivers Vincent Brown and Malcom Floyd continue to be the primary targets for quarterback Philip Rivers.
Insight: Rivers is still improving on his chemistry with free agent signee Robert Meachem. We expect Meachem to seize one of the starting jobs on the outside along with Floyd eventually, but Brown is a lingering threat as is slot receiver Eddie Royal.
8/2/2012 10:20:00 AM
Description: According to the San Diego Union-Tribune writer Michael Gehlken, Chargers wide receiver Robert Meachem left Wednesday's practice with a knee injury.
Insight: Though not expected to be serious, any time away from learning a new offense will hurt his productivity. Meachem joins Malcom Floyd, Vincent Brown and aging, but still elite tight end Antonio Gates. Unless we hear that the injury will keep him out of practice for a significant amount of time we won't make any changes to his fantasy value.
5/22/2012 2:05:00 PM
Description: Chargers wide receiver Robert Meachem is apparently recovered from an off-season knee scope and is fully participating in the team's OTAs.
Insight: Meachem joins Malcom Floyd, Vincent Brown and aging, but still elite tight end Antonio Gates. Meachem will need to be more assertive in San Diego than he was in New Orleans if the Chargers passing offense is to be a top-five group again. He's the primary off-season acquisition to replace free agent Vincent Jackson.
3/14/2012 9:55:00 AM
Description: Robert Meachem is headed to San Diego. The former New Orleans receiver has agreed to a four-year, $25.9 million deal with the Chargers.
Insight: Meachem was pretty hit or miss last year with the Saints, only hauling in 40 catches for 620 yards. He won't have as much competition for targets in San Diego as he did in New Orleans, so you can expect Meachem to be a bigger fantasy contributor in 2012.
9/9/2011 8:34:00 AM
Description: Robert Meachem hauled in five passes for 70 yards and a touchdown against the Packers in the season opener.
Insight: He had a bad drop early but made up for it with a big TD grab over Tramon Williams and was targeted a total of eight times. He's worth having on your fantasy roster, but production could be a bit inconsistent once Lance Moore returns.

Description: Saints WR Robert Meachem underwent ankle surgery after the 2010 season.
SOURCE: NEW ORLEANS TIMES-PICAYUNE
Insight: Meachem said his ankle "pretty much" bothered him the entire year. As usual, don't expect him to be a consistent fantasy option every week in 2011.
12/28/2010 4:39:00 PM
Description: Saints WR Robert Meachem's injury that he suffered against the Falcons when he ran into a photographer isn't serious.
Insight: Meachem had a laugh with the photographer afterward, so he should be fine for Week Seventeen against the Buccaneers. It's hard to recommend him as a fantasy option, despite coming off a huge game Monday night. He is feast or famine.
12/28/2010 12:01:00 PM
Description: Meachem had 10 receptions for 101 yards against the Falcons on Monday night.
Insight: Meachem was also targeted 13 times in the game. (RapidDraft.com)
12/6/2010 11:02:00 AM
Description: Meachem had three catches for 106 yards and a touchdown against the Bengals on Sunday.
Insight: Meachem seems to once again be worthy of a roster spot in fantasy leagues, but may be a little inconsistent to be startable during the playoffs. (RapidDraft.com)
11/25/2010 9:05:00 PM
Description: Meachem had one catch for 55 yards against the Cowboys on Thursday.
Insight: Meachem made the catch on the Saints' game-winning drive, but otherwise was quiet. (RapidDraft.com)
11/22/2010 12:04:00 PM
Description: Meachem had three catches for 50 yards and two touchdowns against Seattle on Sunday.
Insight: Meachem may be re-emerging as a fantasy option, but some inconsistency can be expected. (RapidDraft.com)
11/1/2010 12:00:00 PM
Description: Meachem had six receptions for 76 yards against the Steelers on Sunday night.
Insight: This was Meachem's season high for catches, and he could be a usable fantasy option despite some inconsistency. (RapidDraft.com)
Description: The New Orleans Times Picayune reports Meachem started opposite Marques Colston in Week 7, replacing Devery Henderson.
Insight: Meachem is worth considering as a WR3 as long as he is starting games. (RapidDraft.com)
10/20/2010 11:00:00 AM
Description: The New Orleans Times Picayune reports Meachem, for the first time all season, saw more snaps than Lance Moore and Devery Henderson in Sunday's game against Tampa Bay.
Insight: Meachem now appears healthy after offseason toe surgery, and has now scored in two straight games. He should be owned in all fantasy leagues. (RapidDraft.com)
