Description: The Packers backup quarterback spot, between Matt Flynn and Scott Tolzien, is still up in the air, according to a Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel report.
Insight: Where have we heard this before, that Flynn could be losing his spot in training camp/preseason. Oh, that's right - Seattle and Oakland. The winner of the battle is the handcuff to Aaron Rodgers and could have value if called upon because of the team's top-quality receivers.

Insight: Flynn spent time with three different teams last season before settling in as Green Bay's starter when Seneca Wallace went out with a groin injury. Now that Aaron Rodgers is fully recovered from a broken collarbone, Flynn doesn't figure to see much playing time in 2014.

Description: Packers quarterback Matt Flynn went off for 299 yards and four touchdowns to help Green Bay turn a 26-3 halftime deficit into a 37-36 win in Week 15 at Dallas.
Insight: The big game may have actually ruined Flynn's chances of starting the rest of the season, as the Packers are still alive in the NFC North and have a reason to bring Aaron Rodgers back. It also shows just how bad Dallas' defense is. If you were wondering, Kirk Cousins will take his shot at the Cowboys next week.

Description: Packers quarterback Matt Flynn is getting all the first team reps in practice this week.
Insight: Flynn admitted he didn't know a lot of plays going into the game against Detroit. It showed. He should be improved against Atlanta, but we wouldn't be excited about having to start him on a fantasy team.
11/28/2013 4:04:00 PM
Description: Packers quarterback Matt Flynn had just 139 yards on 10-of-20 passing with zero TDs and one interception Thursday at Detroit.
Insight: It was a far cry from his 480-yard, six-TD performance against the Lions in Week 17 of the 2011 season. Flynn rarely had a chance to throw the ball, as he was sacked seven times by Detroit, including one for a safety. He also lost two fumbles.
11/26/2013 3:03:00 PM
Description: Packers quarterback Matt Flynn took the first-team reps on Tuesday and should be the starter for the Thanksgiving day game against Detroit.
Insight: No official word from coach Mike McCarthy, but we expect Flynn to start. Aaron Rodgers would like to return, but we suspect they will wait until Week 14 as its been just three weeks since he broke the collarbone.
11/11/2013 9:35:00 PM
Description: According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Packers have signed quarterback Matt Flynn, who played with the team from 2008-11 after being drafted in the seventh round of the 2008 draft.
Insight: Aaron Rodgers broke his collarbone in Week 9 and Seneca Wallace injured his groin Sunday, leaving Scott Tolzien as Green Bay's only healthy quarterback. Flynn will back up Tolzien against the Giants this Sunday, but it isn't inconceivable that he'll make at least one start before Rodgers can make it back.

Description: Updating an earlier report, ESPN's Ed Werder now says that Green Bay will probably end up signing free agent quarterback Matt Flynn.
Insight: The Packers didn't put in a waiver claim for him but after watching Seneca Wallace struggle throughout Monday's loss to the Bears, Flynn might be the team's best option under center. In two games this year, Flynn owns an 83.7 quarterback rating with one touchdown and one interception. He spent his first four seasons in Green Bay before signing with Seattle in 2012.
11/5/2013 6:48:00 PM
Description: According to Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com, the Packers have concerns about Matt Flynn's arm, so a waiver claim is unlikely.
Insight: Aaron Rodgers is expected to miss several weeks due to a broken collarbone, leaving Flynn as a potential option after he was waived by Buffalo Monday. However, Flynn has been dealing with arm/elbow issues since last season with Seattle. Flynn backed up Rodgers from 2008-2011.
11/4/2013 1:35:00 PM
Description: Yet another team has sent QB Matt Flynn packing.
Insight: Flynn can add Buffalo to his list of former teams after being released on Monday. The Bills are expected to get E.J. Manuel back from a knee injury Sunday versus Pittsburgh.
10/14/2013 4:15:00 PM
Description: Former Raiders QB Matt Flynn has caught on with Buffalo.
Insight: He could get the start in Week 7 if Thad Lewis' foot injury ends up being serious. Flynn made one start for Oakland earlier in the year, completing 22 of 34 passes for 246 yards and a touchdown. He fumbled once with one interception.
10/13/2013 6:40:00 PM
Description: Quarterback Matt Flynn just released by the Oakland Raiders is apparently going to work out for the Buffalo Bills.
Insight: Week 6 starter Thad Lewis left the game in a walking boot and with E.J. Manuel out and Kevin Kolb on IR they have few choices at this point. Obviously they don't want to go back to Jeff Tuel.
10/7/2013 2:38:00 PM
Description: Quarterback Matt Flynn, who had fallen to third on the Raiders' depth chart following an unsuccessful outing versus Washington, has been released.
Insight: Failing at stops in Seattle and Oakland, there appears to be little left for Flynn. He might end up back in the Packers organization, but his fantasy value is obviously zero at this point.

Insight: Flynn made an emergency start in place of Terrelle Pryor, who was still exhibiting concussion symptoms. He should be dropped from all fantasy rosters.
9/29/2013 9:55:00 AM
Description: According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Raiders will start Matt Flynn at quarterback Sunday against the Redskins.
Insight: Terrelle Pryor passed his concussion tests but the team is being extra cautious with him. Given how bad Washington's defense has looked this season, Flynn isn't a bad option in two-QB leagues.
8/25/2013 4:22:00 PM
Description: Raiders coach Dennis Allen said QB Matt Flynn is once again dealing with tendinitis in his right arm and will need some rest, according to Vic Tafur of SFGate.com.
Insight: Flynn is also on the verge of losing his starting job for the second straight preseason, this time to Terrelle Pryor. Either, way fantasy owners shouldn't draft anyone tied to this Raiders passing game. Darren McFadden is also a risky pick given his injury history and Oakland's suspect offensive line.
8/24/2013 11:02:00 AM
Description: Oakland starter Matt Flynn has struggled in the exhibition season and could lose the his spot on the depth chart.
Insight: Flynn could lose a starting spot for the second consecutive season and fantasy owners should think twice before selecting him. Friday night Flynn was 3-for-6 for 19 yards with a pair of interceptions while Pryor was 7-for-9 for 93 yards and a score.
8/14/2013 5:53:00 PM
Description: According to Vic Tafur of SFGate.com, Raiders coaches have "accepted" that quarterback Matt Flynn is not going to have success throwing longer than 25 yards.
Insight: Tafur said that Flynn's limitations throwing deep have been "clear all camp." The team's playbook is heavy on short passes. The Raiders lost top LT Jared Veldheer to a torn triceps Wednesday, so things are looking way down for this offense.
7/31/2013 3:36:00 PM
Description: According to the Associated Press, Matt Flynn has solidified his role as starting quarterback so far in training camp.
Insight: Flynn signed with Seattle last year, where the starting job also was his to lose, and he lost it to Russell Wilson. However, rookie Tyler Wilson and Terrelle Pryor don't offer the same level of competition for Flynn in Oakland. However, he's a long shot to produce anything of value to fantasy owners based on the Raiders' personnel this season.
5/29/2013 5:33:00 PM
Description: Raiders coach Dennis Allen declared Matt Flynn the starting quarterback, according to the Contra Costa Times.
Insight: Flynn signed with Seattle last year, where the starting job also was his to lose, and he lost it to Russell Wilson. However, we don't see 2013 fourth-rounder Tyler Wilson taking the job from him, even though it would be eerie if he lost it again to another guy named Wilson.
