Description: Detroit Lions receiver Mike Thomas is expected to start opposite Calvin Johnson after Ryan Broyles suffered a season-ending knee injury in Sunday's game.
Insight: Thomas has yet to catch more than four balls in a game this season, but it wasn't that long ago, 2010 in fact, that he caught 66 balls for 820 yards and four touchdowns.

Description: The Detroit Lions have acquired receiver Mike Thomas from the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Insight: Thomas was a decent fantasy option two years ago when he posted 66 receptions, 820 yards and four touchdowns but he slipped to 44 for 415 and one score last season and dropped down the Jaguars' depth chart this preseason. He's strictly depth behind Calvin Johnson, Titus Young and Ryan Broyles.

Description: According to the Florida Times Union, Jaguars receiver Mike Thomas is now fifth on the depth chart after Justin Blackmon, Laurent Robinson, Lee Evans and second-year player Cecil Shorts.
Insight: Thomas was further proof last season that simply being the team's No. 1 option in the passing game doesn't automatically equal fantasy success. He finished with 415 yards and one touchdown in 15 games and shouldn't be owned this season.

Description: According to Jaguars GM Gene Smith, WR Mike Thomas could emerge as a true number one wide receiver this season.
Insight: Despite having an inconsistent 2010, Thomas still figures to be a huge part of the team's passing game now that Mike Sims-Walker is set to hit free agency. However, Thomas should only be considered a low-tier fantasy option due to the team's run-first mentality and the question marks at quarterback.

Description: According to Jaguars HC Jack Del Rio, WR Mike Thomas is "on the verge of breaking out big."
Insight: We wouldn't have much trust in the pint-sized Thomas (5'8/195). But outside of Marcedes Lewis, he's the team's best option with Mike Sims-Walker going to free agency. If the team doesn't make receiver a priority, which it doesn't sound like it, Thomas will be solid in PPR leagues.
