Description: Browns running back Willis McGahee (concussion) has been cleared to play, according to Scott Petrak of chroniclet.com.
Insight: McGahee is averaging just 2.7 yards per carry this season and will return to a committee. Edwin Baker had 38 yards and a touchdown on eight carries in Week 15 against the Bears after being signed off Houston's practice squad and could remained involved in the offense, but no Browns RB is worth playing in Week 16 against the Jets.

Insight: He missed last week's game with a concussion. The veteran is averaging just 2.7 yards per carry this season and won't be an option for fantasy owners the rest of the way. If you're going to own someone from the Cleveland backfield, Chris Ogbonnaya is the better choice.

Insight: McGahee suffered a concussion Sunday against the Patriots. Fullback Chris Ogbonnaya and Fozzy Whittaker should split carries this week against the Bears.

Description: Browns running back Willis McGahee (concussion) "seems very doubtful" for Sunday's game against the Bears, according to Pat McManamon of espn.com.
Insight: McGahee suffered a concussion in the fourth quarter against the Patriots. The 32-year-old has rushed for just 2.7 yards per carry and two touchdowns on 138 carries in 11 games since joining the Browns. His absence will allow Fozzy Whittaker and Chris Ogbonnaya to see more playing time, but neither is a good fantasy option for the second round of the fantasy playoffs.

Description: Browns running back Willis McGahee missed Thursday's practice, but returned for Friday's session as expected.
Insight: Thursday was apparently just additional rest for the aging running back. The real issue is a 2.9 ypc average. Fantasy owners need a big improvement to make him viable.

Description: Browns running back Willis McGahee missed Thursday's practice, but should return for Friday's session.
Insight: Thursday was likely just a rest day for the aging running back. The real issue is a 2.9 ypc average. Fantasy owners need a big improvement to make him viable.

Description: Browns running back Willis McGahee missed Thursday's practice, but returned for Friday's session.
Insight: Thursday was likely just a rest day for an aging running back. He's expected to be ready for Sunday, but it should be noted that he's rushing at just a 2.8 ypc clip. Chris Ogbonnaya would be the team's option if McGahee can't play.

Description: Browns running back Willis McGahee missed Thursday's practice, though no reason was announced.
Insight: It could just be giving an old running back some extra time to rest. Chris Ogbonnaya would be the team's option if McGahee can't run.

Description: Browns running back Willis McGahee says "there will be dramatic improvement" in his second game with the team. "I'm going to have more than eight yards," McGahee said. SOURCE: Mary Kay Cabot, Cleveland Plain Dealer.
Insight: McGahee played just 14 snaps against the Vikings after being signed late last week following Trent Richardson's trade to the Colts. He'll face a tough matchup against the Bengals in Week 4 and should only be used as a desperation flex play.

Description: New Browns running back Willis McGahee no doubt will be a popular pickup prior to Sunday's game, but coach Rob Chudzinski said Chris Ogbonnaya, Bobby Rainey and McGahee will share playing time in Week 3. SOURCE: Akron Beacon-Journal
Insight: McGahee is the best long-term option, but the committee situation makes all three players unattractive for Sunday's game against the Vikings.
9/20/2013 11:20:00 AM
Description: Browns newly-signed running back Willis McGahee will play in Sunday's game against the Minnesota, according to Adam Schefter.
Insight: Of course, that doesn't mean he'll get enough work to be fantasy worthy in the first week. He'll likely split carries with Bobby Rainey, leaving both players as low-end flex options. McGahee is a must-add player because he'll eventually become the lead back.
9/19/2013 3:42:00 PM
Description: Willis McGahee passed his physical and has officially signed with the Cleveland Browns. He plans to play in Week 3, according to Jeff Darlington of NFL.com.
Insight: If he does play he'll likely split carries with Bobby Rainey, leaving both players as low-end flex options. McGahee is a must-add player because he'll eventually become the lead back, but his upside is limited.

Description: Free agent Willis McGahee looks poised to become the Browns' new starting running back. SOURCE: Scott Petrak, Medina Gazette
Insight: He's in Cleveland now for a physical. With Trent Richardson on his way to Indianapolis, McGahee has instantly become the Browns' most appealing fantasy halfback. And he isn't even on the team yet! It just goes to show how little the Browns are working with at halfback now that Richardson is a Colt.

Description: Willis McGahee's release was not performance based. According to the Colorado Springs Gazette, the Broncos let McGahee go because his health raised too many red flags.
Insight: McGahee has put together quite a career, posting 1,000 yard seasons with three different teams. His last 1,000 yard campaign was only two years ago so it would seem he still has plenty left in the tank. We'd be shocked if McGahee doesn't at least get a tryout with another team in the next few weeks.
6/13/2013 1:56:00 PM
Description: The Broncos have released veteran running back Willis McGahee, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Insight: Let the Montee Ball era begin in Denver. Ball is in line to see most of the carries for the Broncos next season, with Ronnie Hillman and possibly Knowshon Moreno backing him up.
5/20/2013 3:25:00 PM
Description: Broncos running back Willis McGahee is apparently healthy, but didn't show for Monday's start of OTAs.
Insight: McGahee's injury progress and his relationship or lack of one with the team will go a long way in determining rookie Montee Ball's fantasy value.
1/11/2013 5:56:00 PM
Description: Broncos coach John Fox says that running back Willis McGahee is on pace to return next week for the AFC Championship (if Denver makes it that far). McGahee has been out since suffering a broken leg and a torn MCL in a Week 11 win against San Diego.
Insight: McGahee began practicing again on Tuesday. Knowshon Moreno has played well for the Broncos in McGahee's absence so it's doubtful McGahee would receive a heavy workload if he plays, especially with a Super Bowl berth on the line.

Description: Denver running back Willis McGahee "had a good first day" in his first practice since injuring his knee in Week 11, coach John Fox said. SOURCE: DenverBroncos.com
Insight: McGahee isn't eligible to return until the AFC Championship game, if Denver makes it that far. The 2011 Pro Bowler finished the year as Denver's leading rusher this season despite missing the final six games of the regular season. However, Knowshon Moreno excelled in his place with 665 total yards and four touchdowns over those last six games.
1/8/2013 2:49:00 PM
Description: Denver running back Willis McGahee (torn MCL, broken leg) was back on the practice field Tuesday, the first day he was eligible to make an appearance.
Insight: McGahee could play if Denver makes the AFC Championship, though the Broncos have gotten excellent play out of Knowshon Moreno.
12/28/2012 4:52:00 PM
Description: Denver running back Willis McGahee (torn MCL, broken leg) who was placed on the IR in November, is eligible to start practicing next week.
Insight: McGahee could return if Denver makes the AFC Championship, though the team has gotten excellent play out of Knowshon Moreno.
