Description: Knicks forward Andrea Bargnani injured his calf and hamstring during Friday's practice and will not play on Saturday.
Insight: NEWSFLASH: Bargnani is not fantasy relevant. If you still have him, drop him immediately just as the Knicks probably should do in the near future.

Description: Knicks PF/C Andrea Bargnani will not return until Nov 12, according to coach Derek Fisher.
Insight: Quincy Acy and Amare Stoudemire have been sharing the power forward minutes. It's hard to recommend keepinh a player with Bargnani's injury history on your fantasy roster. Yes, he can play when healthy, but that hasn't been very often over the past three seasons.

Description: Knicks forward Andrea Bargnani has been ruled out of the first three games of the season.
Insight: Nothing new here for a guy who has missed more than half of the games over the past three seasons. Sunday versus Charlotte is the earliest he could play, but fantasy owners should not expect anything from him - then they won't be disappointed.
10/24/2014 6:37:00 PM
Description: Knicks forward Andrea Bargnani could be a good late-round flier in fantasy leagues.
Insight: New York fans are laughing and shaking their head as some fans likely forget this buffoon was still on the roster. Bargnani is 7 feet tall and plays center, yet doesn't rebound, block shots or shoot all that well from the field. The Knicks could certainly use some scoring from him and being that he is in a contract year, fantasy owners late in drafts could roll the dice on him staying motivated to perform well.

Description: Knicks PF/C Andrea Bargnani started at power forward in a preseason game on Wednesday.
Insight: Bargnani started along with Jose Calderon, J.R. Smith, Carmelo Anthony and Samuel Dalembert. Bargnani should benefit from playing with Calderon as both played with each other in Toronto. Still, Bargnani is not worth drafting in most leagues.

Description: Knicks PF/C Andrea Bargnani (torn left elbow ligament) will be out indefinitely.
Insight: He injured the other elbow twice last season and ended up playing just 35 games. We may have seen the last of Bargnani this year. Although inconsistent, he had averaged 13.3 ppg, 5.3 rpg which was an improvement over his 2012 season with the Raptors, but well below what he had done from 2009-2011.

Description: Knicks PF/C Andrea Bargnani fell to the ground on an ill-advised dunk attempt Wednesday against the Sixers. Thursday, an MRI revealed a torn ligament in Bargnani's left elbow. SOURCE: Steve Popper, NorthJersey.com
Insight: The seven-footer will be out indefinitely. With Amare Stoudemire and Kenyon Martin already banged up, Carmelo Anthony is going to have to play power forward with J.R. Smith filling in at the three. The Knicks are an absolute disaster right now and if things get much worse, the team could opt to start over by dealing Carmelo at the trade deadline.

Description: Knicks PF/C Andrea Bargnani will move to the bench Wednesday, according to Al Iannazzone of Newsday.
Insight: Tyson Chandler will return after missing 20 games due to a broken left fibula. Bargnani averaged 33 minutes, 16.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.7 blocks and 1.0 threes per game while Chandler was out, but he has significantly less value now.
12/5/2013 10:25:00 PM
Description: Knicks PF/C Andrea Bargnani was ejected from Thursday's game against the Nets with 8:23 left in the fourth quarter.
Insight: Bargnani was assessed a second technical foul for trash talking Kevin Garnett after a made 3-pointer. He finished with 16 points, two rebounds, three assists, one steal, three blocks and one three.
11/14/2013 10:58:00 AM
Description: Knicks PF/C Andrea Bargnani has played three games since center Tyson Chandler went down with an injury and he's averaging 20.3 ppg.
Insight: Bargnani is getting the majority of the center minutes and he's been on the floor for just over 30 minutes per game with Chandler out. He should be good for at least three more weeks and fantasy owners should be taking advantage.
11/8/2013 9:36:00 PM
Description: Knicks forward Andrea Bargnani made 11-of-25 from the field and scored 25 points with eight rebounds and a shocking five blocks Friday against the Bobcats.
Insight: Bargnani started at center in place of the injured Tyson Chandler and played 35 minutes. He should remain there and get consistent minutes until Chandler returns in a 4-6 weeks, but remember that he won't be playing the Bobcats (without Al Jefferson) every game.

Description: Knicks forward Andrea Bargnani could see time at the five while Tyson Chandler is out with a broken leg. SOURCE: Al Iannazzone, Newsday
Insight: Bargnani has the height to play center (he's seven feet) but he's mostly played power forward throughout his career. He's gotten off to a rather uninspiring start with just 8.8 ppg in his first four contests.
10/31/2013 8:39:00 PM
Description: New York forward Andrea Bargnani got the start Thursday against Chicago.
Insight: Bargnani came off the bench in Wednesday night's season opener. Bargnani's inclusion in the lineup pushes Metta World Peace out of the starting five.

Description: Knicks power forward Andrea Bargnani will come off the bench to start the season. SOURCE: New York Post
Insight: New York will stick with Carmelo Anthony at power forward with Metta World Peace starting at the three. Bargnani and Amare Stoudemire will have to battle it out for minutes at the four when Anthony is on the bench or playing small forward.
7/1/2013 4:59:00 PM
Description: According to ESPN.com, Andrea Bargnani to the Knicks is a done deal.
Insight: The Knicks will send Toronto Steve Novak, Marcus Camby, Quentin Richardson, a 2016 first-round pick and two second-round picks in exchange for Bargnani. The No. 1 overall pick in the 2006 NBA Draft has missed 98 games the past two seasons. It's unclear what his role will be, but he's certainly going to have fewer shots with Carmelo Anthony and Amare Stoudemire in the frontcourt.

Description: Andrea Bargnani's trade to New York has to be re-worked due to 2013-14 salary cap figures. SOURCE: Howard Beck, New York Times
Insight: It looks like the Knicks are going to have to send an additional minimum salary player to Toronto. It's a minor setback but the deal is still happening and it could be completed as early as tomorrow.

Description: The Raptors sent forward Andrea Bargnani to the Knicks Sunday in exchange for Marcus Camby, Steve Novak and a first round pick in 2016. SOURCE: Howard Beck, New York Times
Insight: So to recap, the Knicks get an overpaid, often-injured seven-footer in Bargnani while Toronto receives Camby, a 39-year-old who contributes nothing offensively, and a one-trick pony in the three-point shooting Novak. Bargnani obviously has the most upside out of the three but it's worth noting that his 12.7 ppg average last season was his lowest since 2008. We're not counting on any of these players to have much fantasy success in their new homes.

Description: Trading Andrea Bargnani will be Raptors GM Masai Ujiri's top priority this offseason. SOURCE: Marc Stein, ESPN
Insight: The Raptors have been looking to trade Bargnani for months now without any luck. He's a productive player when healthy (15.2 ppg in seven seasons) but Bargnani's injury history raises a lot of red flags.
3/13/2013 7:10:00 PM
Description: According to NBA.com, Toronto forward Andrea Bargnani will miss the rest of the season with a right elbow sprain.
Insight: Bargnani looked like he was on the cusp of superstardom after his brilliant 2010-11 campaign (21.4 ppg). This year he posted a mediocre 12.7 ppg and completely forgot how to rebound (career-worst 3.7 boards per game). At age 27, Bargnani still has plenty of time to turn things around. With that said, Bargnani's future certainly doesn't look as bright as it did a few years ago.
