Insight: The deal is worth $2.7 million. Stiemsma was released by the Timberwolves earlier in the week to make room for Kevin Martin and Corey Brewer. The foul-prone big man has a knack for blocking shots but we doubt he'll see enough minutes to warrant any real fantasy consideration.

Description: Timberwolves center Greg Stiemsma scored in double figures Wednesday for the first time this season.
Insight: Stiemsma is playing just 16.0 mpg through four games. He's only an option if you're desperate for blocks (2.5 bpg).

Description: Center Greg Stiemsma has agreed to a multi-year offer sheet reportedly worth $3 million per year with the Minnesota Timberwolves, according to Jerry Zgoda of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. The Boston Celtics will not be able to match the deal, as they cannot afford anything more than the $2 million biannual exception.
Insight: Though Stiemsma will likely back up Nikola Pekovic at center, he'll have some fantasy value due to the dearth of shot blockers in the NBA. Stiemsma averaged 1.5 blocks in just under 14 mpg last season, which averages out to 5.33 blocks per 48 minutes.

Description: Greg Stiemsma should be available if the Celtics need him Saturday night in Game 7 of their series against the 76ers. Stiemsma asked to be removed from Wednesday night's Game 6 because his foot was bothering him.
Insight: Stiemsma has been struggling with plantar fisciitis for the last month but Boston will need as much depth as possible if they want to win this series, so expect Stiemsma to be out there on Saturday.

Description: Greg Stiemsma had an extremely efficient night for the Celtics Monday against Philadelphia. The 6-foot-11 center from Wisconsin scored 10 points and was a perfect 5-5 from the field in 14 minutes of action.
Insight: Stiemsma had made just one basket in the series coming into Monday night's tilt, so this was easily Stiemsma's best game of the series. He also added three blocks and two rebounds. As good as he was in Game 5, it's doubtful that Stiemsma will be much of a factor going forward for Boston, as he is primarily used as a defensive stopper and usually only plays when Kevin Garnett is in foul trouble or needs a rest.

Description: After missing Boston's final two games of the regular season with an injured foot, Greg Stiemsma is back on the floor for the Celtics' playoff opener against the Hawks.
Insight: Stiemsma is a good role player for Boston but the only real asset he brings to fantasy teams is his ability to block shots (1.5 bpg during the regular season).

Description: Greg Stiemsma, bothered by plantar fisciitis missed today's shootaround and is questionable for Thursday night's tilt with Milwaukee.
Insight: Stiemsma has been a solid role player for the Celtics all season and probably stood to inherit many of Kevin Garnett's and Brandon Bass's minutes tonight had he been healthy. Doc Rivers will probably play it safe and keep Stiemsma out of this one.

Description: With Boston resting Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Rajon Rondo on Friday, Greg Stiemsma has been inserted into the starting lineup.
Insight: Stiemsma is making his third start of the season. The 26-year-old rookie isn't much of a scorer (2.9 ppg) but he can rebound and block shots with the best of them (six blocks last Sunday in Charlotte).

Description: The Timberwolves released former-Wisconsin Badger Greg Stiemsma.
Insight: Stiemsma averaged 8.8 points and 7.1 rebounds in the NBDL last year. According to his Twitter feed, he has worked out for the Spurs and Nuggets in the past two weeks. (RapidDraft.com)
