Description: Heat power forward Rashard Lewis, was a non-entity for most of the regular season and into the playoffs, but has become an integral part of the offense in the final two games against Indiana and the first two games against San Antonio.
Insight: Lewis is averaging 28 minutes and 13.8 ppg over his last four contests. He's become a three-point option shooting 14-for-29 over the same span. Nice move by coach Erik Spoelstra.
4/12/2013 10:23:00 PM
Description: Heat forward Rashard Lewis had 19 points off the bench Friday against Boston.
Insight: Lewis is averaging 14 ppg over his last five contests. He has been receiving more minutes as the Heat rests up its important players for the playoffs.
12/4/2012 10:07:00 PM
Description: Despite starting the last three games in place of Shane Battier (knee), Heat forward Rashard Lewis has been virtually nonexistent, scoring five total points in that span.
Insight: Lewis had zero points on one shot Tuesday against the Wizards. He shouldn't be anywhere near your fantasy lineup.
10/20/2012 7:52:00 PM
Description: Heat Forward Rashard Lewis scored 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting (3-of-6 3FG) in Saturday's preseason game against the Spurs.
Insight: Lewis averaged just 7.8 points per game last season, the sixth straight season his scoring average declined. Aside from ineffectiveness, the veteran just hasn't been able to stay healthy in the last few years. He could end up being the fourth scoring option after Miami's "Big 3" but he's not going to be good for much besides a couple of threes per game -- nobody besides LeBron James, Dwyane Wade or Chris Bosh scored in double figures for the team last season.
7/10/2012 7:13:00 PM
Description: Forward Rashard Lewis, who was recently bought out by the Hornets, has agreed to a two-year, $2.75 million contract with the Miami Heat, according to Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports.
Insight: Lewis averaged just 7.8 points per game last season and has played in only 85 of a possible 230 games in the past three seasons. He can be ignored in fantasy drafts, as the Heat won't have enough shots to support another fantasy viable player after LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Ray Allen and Mario Chalmers.
7/1/2012 4:17:00 PM
Description: Forward Rashard Lewis, who was recently bought out by the Hornets, is drawing interest from a number of teams including the Celtics, Hawks, Heat and Lakers.
Insight: Lewis averaged under 10 ppg last season for the first time since 1999-00 when he was in only his second year in the league. Lewis, a 38.8 percent three-point shooter throughout his career, made only 23.9 percent of his attempts from that distance last season. After years of injuries, you have to wonder how much the 32-year-old has left in the tank. Lewis will likely be reduced to a bench role wherever he ends up next season, meaning his fantasy value is minimal at best.
3/16/2011 9:02:00 PM
Description: Lewis continues to miss time with his injured knee and seek multiple opinions.
Insight: A player doesn't seek a second opinion unless he didn't like the first. With the Wizards going nowhere this season, it simply doesn't make sense for Lewis to come back. (RapidDraft.com)
3/3/2011 9:02:00 PM
Description: Rashard Lewis will have a decision very soon on whether he will have his knee scoped or not.
SOURCE: Washington Post
Insight: Lewis should be let loose in just about all leagues. It has been bothering him for most of 2011 and it not something that will be going away all season. Lewis is a ticking time bomb, Josh Howard's knee is not much better, and Al Thornton is in Golden State. Jordan Crawford is a bit small at 6-foot-4 and 195 pounds with no experience, while Cartier Martin has already shown he doesn't have the skill to take on a large part of the offense. Crawford is probably the guy to watch, but that's still a way off.
2/26/2011 10:21:00 PM
Description: Rashard Lewis got back in the swing of things by playing 33 minutes that yielded a line of 13 points including three bombs on 5-of-7 shooting.
Insight: It's highly unlikely his knee will be able to take the rigors of another seven weeks of NBA action. He should be owned in most leagues, but like most guys with knee concerns, all of his owners should strongly consider selling him at a higher value in the near future.
2/23/2011 12:06:00 AM
Description: Rashard Lewis missed all three of his shots and did not score in 20 minutes of action.
Insight: Yikes. He is clearly not healthy and it feels like he is a likely shut-down candidate for the Wizards. If there is any decent player worth adding on the wire, you have our blessing to cut Lewis ASAP.
2/15/2011 2:45:00 PM
Description: Rashard Lewis (knee) is highly doubtful for Wednesday's game with the Magic.
SOURCE: Orlando Sentinel
Insight: It's probably best that he rests his bum knee and he can hopefully recover after the All-Star Weekend. He should not be let loose in any competitive league and his price tag is comparable to the DVD collection you'll see that comes in the $3.99 bin at the grocery store.
2/13/2011 6:04:00 PM
Description: Lewis will miss today's game against the Cavaliers with knee tendinitis.
Insight: Al Thornton will get the bulk of the minutes filling in for Lewis. Cartier Martin may even get some playing time as well. (RapidDraft.com)
12/26/2010 9:07:00 PM
Description: Rashard Lewis had a game reminiscent of his days in Seattle with 21 points, 12 boards, a steal, a block, and four treys in the loss to San Antonio.
Insight: This is outstanding news for Lewis to explode against a good Spurs team. The 12 boards are a bit of an aberration since Blatche and McGee did not play, but the threes and defense are a welcomed and legitimate sight. He needs to be owned in every league and his value is on the upswing.
12/21/2010 7:01:00 PM
Description: According to Rotoworld.com, Lewis is scheduled to make his Wizards debut on Wednesday.
Insight: He is expected to be coming off the bench for 20 to 30 minutes a game. (RapidDraft.com)
12/11/2010 11:01:00 AM
Description: Lewis had 15 points on 6-for-9 shooting from the field in the Magic's loss to the Jazz.
Insight: Lewis has been disappointing so far. He is scoring just 12.8 points. Lewis is making 38.0% of his three-pointers, but his scoring and 4.3 rebounding average keep him on the fringe of fantasy relevance. (RapidDraft.com)
11/30/2010 10:05:00 PM
Description: Lewis scored 20 points on 7-of-10 shooting tonight.
Insight: Coming into tonight's game, Lewis was averaging just 12 points per contest. (RapidDraft.com)
11/21/2010 3:46:00 AM
Description: Rashard Lewis got the ball rolling by hitting five threes on 8-of-11 shooting for 21 points.
Insight: Finally. Lewis has been one of the biggest busts of the year and he finally got it going tonight. He should be owned in all leagues and that buy-low window is closing quickly.
11/13/2010 10:04:00 PM
Description: Lewis had eight points, two assists and two rebounds in the win over the Nets.
Insight: Lewis has been inconsistant this season and this is just another game where he has struggled to find his shot. He did hit two threes in the game though. (RapidDraft.com)
11/6/2010 11:03:00 PM
Description: Lewis had 22 points and six rebounds in the win over the Bobcats tonight.
Insight: He finally broke out of his slump and came through hitting 5-of-7 three point attempts. This is a great sign for Lewis who should be a mainstay in fantasy lineups from here on out. (RapidDraft.com)
10/29/2010 12:01:00 AM
Description: Lewis scored 13 points and hauled in seven rebounds in the Magics' win over the Wizards tonight.
Insight: Fantasy owners might be a little dismayed at this stat line, especially with just the one three pointer, but he remains a solid option going forward and he will have better nights than this. If you look at it from another perspective, he did play only 23 minutes and for that many minutes, this is pretty decent production. (RapidDraft.com)
