Description: The Heat traded center Joel Anthony to Boston on Wednesday. SOURCE: Adrian Wojnarowski, Yahoo Sports
Insight: Anthony has played a grand total of 37 minutes this season. He's useless to fantasy owners.

Description: Miami C/PF Joel Anthony missed Friday night's preseason game against the Hornets and is questionable for Tuesday's season opener against Boston. Anthony has been dealing with an injured hamstring for over a month.
Insight: Anthony isn't fantasy worthy with his 3.4 ppg and 3.9 rpg averages, but his absence would leave more playing time to Udonis Haslem.

Description: Joel Anthony, who missed Tuesday night's game against Phoenix with a sprained ankle, is expected to return to the Heat lineup Friday night in Detroit.
Insight: Dexter Pittman moved into the starting lineup Tuesday when Anthony wasn't available. Anthony knows his role and his return will help the Heat defensively, but he's never been much of a fantasy contributor. Anthony is scoring just 3.2 ppg this season.

Description: Joel Anthony didn't do much in the box score with his goose egg in the points department and only three boards, but he did a nice job defending Dirk on the defensive end.
Insight: We called it when nobody else did and Anthony was able to keep Dirk out of the paint and put a hand in his face during the middle of the game. Miami handled the game on the defensive end and had huge shot after huge shot to keep Dallas at reach.
5/22/2011 11:41:00 PM
Description: Joel Anthony played great defense and was a tremendous presence in the paint on both ends. His five blocks headlined his line that also had three points and four assists in 29 minutes.
Insight: He's the unsung hero for the night and despite Boozer's nice game, he did a nice job on the weak side to prevent easy shots.

Description: Chris Bosh is expected to miss the next four games due to a high-ankle sprain.
SOURCE: Sun Sentinel
Insight: High-ankle sprains can last for close to two month, but this one is not as severe. Bosh owners will want to bench him next week under most circumstances. Joel Anthony has a decent contributor in blocks and boards for deeper leagues.
1/18/2011 10:48:00 PM
Description: According to Elias, Joel Anthony became third player since 1967 to grab 16 boards and not shoot a field goal attempt on Tuesday. He also added three blocks and a steal in what proved to be a positive fantasy line.
Insight: Wilt Chamberlain and Dennis Rodman were the previous two. Joel played 43 minutes and made it abundantly clear he will be leaned on should Bosh miss more time. CB1 shouldn't be out all that long and the Heat do not play again until Friday, so feel free to cut Anthony loose.
10/26/2010 11:02:00 AM
Description: Anthony will be the Heat's starting center, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.
Insight: Anthony will have two roles: rebounds and block shots. He blocked 1.4 shots in 16.5 minutes last year, so he could have some fantasy value. (RapidDraft.com)
8/17/2010 3:43:00 AM
Description: Joel Anthony is expected to be the Heat starting center
Insight: He's not going to have much value, but he should be good for a couple blocks and some boards.
7/16/2010 9:52:00 PM
Description: The Heat surprised many by re-signing Joel Anthony to a five-year, $18 million deal.
SOURCE: Draft Express
Insight: The fact that they signed him isn't surprising, but five years? Anthony is a mediocre option at best and loses most of his fantasy appeal while Bosh and Haslem are healthy.
