Description: Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony continued his scoring binge with 44 points Monday against Dallas.
Insight: He's gone over 35 points in each of his last four games, averaging 41.3 ppg over that span. Almost a third of his made field goals during that stretch have come from beyond the three-point line (19-of-59). Description: Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony had the game of his life Friday in a 125-96 win over Charlotte. The seven-time All-Star finished with a career-high 62 points on 23-for-35 shooting.
Insight: The 62 points are a new Madison Square Garden record. It's also the highest point total ever recorded by a New York Knick. He was 6-of-11 on three-pointers and 10-of-10 from the charity stripe. The crazy thing is, it could have been even more as Melo sat out the final eight minutes with New York leading by almost 40. In typical Melo fashion, he did not have any assists. The win snapped a five-game losing streak for the Knicks.

Description: Carmelo Anthony will be representing the Knicks in next month's All-Star Game in New Orleans.
Insight: He was voted in by the fans, though even if he hadn't, he probably still would have made the team. Anthony's scoring is down from last season (26.1 ppg this season compared to 28.7 ppg in 2012-13) but his rebounding numbers have never been higher (career-high 9.0 rpg).

Description: Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony scored 26 points Friday against the Clippers, but it wasn't pretty. Melo made only four of his 23 field goal attempts (.174).

"If he says he's ready to go, we'll put him in uniform and play him."

Description: Beat writer Roger Rubin is reporting that Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony, who suffered a sprained left ankle during Monday's game, will not play in the Christmas Day game against OKC.
Insight: A lengthy absence would be crushing to the Knicks and fantasy owners alike as there is no one that can replace 26.5 ppg, 9.0 rpg, 2.8 apg, 1.1 spg, 1.4 threes per contest. J.R Smith and Iman Shumpert would certainly see more offensive opportunities if "Melo" can't play.
