Description: Even though Toronto G/F John Salmons was out Sunday against the Lakers with a bad back, both Steve Novak and Landry Fields picked up DNPs.
Insight: The Raptors may want to stop signing or trading for Knicks' players. Fields has played just 12 minutes per game this season and Novak has averaged 10.5. Both players are shooting under 36 percent. Toronto spread out Salmons' minutes to DeMar DeRozan, Patrick Patterson and Julyan Stone on Sunday.

Insight: He's missed the team's last two contests with a stiff back. Novak can get hot from three-point range but he rarely sees enough minutes to be a consistent fantasy contributor.

Description: Steve Novak is headed to Canada. The Raptors acquired Novak as part of a three-player trade on Sunday. SOURCE: Howard Beck, New York Times
Insight: Marcus Camby will join him in Toronto. Novak averaged 6.6 ppg last season while shooting 42.5 percent from beyond the arc. He won't have to share the rock with Carmelo anymore, which is definitely a positive from a fantasy standpoint. Still, we're not expecting him to score double-digit points on a consistent basis.

Description: Knicks forward Steve Novak will miss Game 6 against the Celtics Friday night due to back spasms, according to the New York Post.
Insight: That means Chris Copeland will get some minutes, even though his left shoulder isn't "100 percent." Copeland hasn't played the last two games after barely playing Game 2 and 3.
3/9/2013 10:31:00 PM
Description: Knicks forward Steve Novak was feeling it Saturday against the Jazz. He made 5-of-10 from 3-point range and 7-of-12 overall for a season-high 20 points with six rebounds in 26 minutes.
Insight: With Amare Stoudemire sidelined for six weeks, the Knicks are going to need Novak's production off the bench. He should be a solid source of threes over the final five weeks.
1/3/2013 10:38:00 PM
Description: Knicks forward Steve Novak made five of his seven three-point attempts for 15 points Thursday against San Antonio.
Insight: Novak seems to be either ice cold (he was 0-for-5 on three-pointers Tuesday against Portland) or on fire. It's fine to own Novak in fantasy. Just don't expect him to be consistent.

Description: New York sharpshooter Steve Novak is missing Wednesday's game against the Nets because of flu-like symptoms.
Insight: Chris Copeland (5.7 ppg) could see more action than usual with Novak out sick. The hope is that Novak will be able to play Friday against Chicago.
11/25/2012 6:17:00 PM
Description: Knicks forward Steve Novak has finally started hitting threes again after going cold for three weeks.
Insight: Novak only made 11-of-39 (.282) from 3-point range from Nov. 4-20 but has knocked down 9-of-15 (.600) from that distance in his last three games, including 5-of-7 for 19 points Sunday against Detroit.
11/15/2012 11:09:00 PM
Description: Knicks forward Steve Novak has only made five threes total in five games after making five of eight in the opener.
Insight: Novak's game is long-range shooting. If he's not making those he's essentially worthless in fantasy leagues. Since he's arguably the best outside shooter in the league we think he'll rebound, but he shouldn't be in fantasy lineups until that happens.
11/2/2012 10:57:00 PM
Description: Knicks forward Steve Novak swished five 3-pointers on eight attempts in Friday's season opener against the Heat.
Insight: Novak led the league with a 3-point percentage of 47.2 last season. He's an integral part of New York's rotation and should be owned in most leagues.
7/9/2012 5:15:00 PM
Description: According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports, Steve Novak has agreed to a four-year, $15 million contract with the Knicks.
Insight: Novak likely reached his ceiling last season when he averaged 8.8 points, made 133 threes and shot 47.2 percent from downtown. However, there's no reason he can't do that again, as he figures to be a major part of New York's rotation for the second straight season.
3/22/2011 3:00:00 AM
Description: Novak is shooting 58 percent from outside in 15 games with the Spurs.
Insight: After joining the team via 10-day contracts, Novak has earned a more permanent spot and delivered 32 points in 36 minutes the past two games. There's no reason for his playing time to dip in Tim Duncan's absence. (RapidDraft.com)
3/19/2011 10:35:00 PM
Description: Steve Novak had his best line of the year with 19 points, four boards, five threes and a block in the win.
Insight: The Spurs tied their franchise record with 17 triples in the game. Obviously Novak should be ignored unless he has a couple more solid games.
10/14/2010 11:04:00 AM
Description: Novak canned six three-pointers on his way to a game-high 22 points as Dallas beat Detroit.
Insight: Novak is entering his fifth year in the league as a one-trick pony. He shoots threes - that's all he does. He has hit 40.3% of his three-pointers over his career. (RapidDraft.com)
9/24/2010 1:01:00 PM
Description: Novak signed a contract with the Mavericks.
Insight: Novak has one skill: three-point shooting. In that way, he'll ably replace Tim Thomas who left the team to be with his ailing wife. (RapidDraft.com)
