Description: Dodgers starter Roberto Hernandez has gone 4-0 in his last six starts after getting the win Thursday afternoon versus Atlanta.
Insight: Hernandez went six innings yielding just one run on three hits. He even struck out five batters. He's not going to help your strikeout total much, but the former Fausto Carmona should continue to be a boon to three pitching categories - wins, ERA, WHIP.

Description: Phillies starter Roberto Hernandez has been traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Insight: Over his last four starts, the 33-year-old Hernandez has gone 3-0 with a 1.88 ERA and a 0.80 WHIP despite striking out 2.51 batters per nine innings in that span. With the Dodgers he'll likely take over for injured Josh Beckett.

Description: Phillies starter Roberto Hernandez held the Nationals to one unearned run on five hits over eight innings Friday night.
Insight: Over his last four starts, the 33-year-old Hernandez has gone 3-0 with a 1.88 ERA and a 0.80 WHIP despite striking out 2.51 batters per nine innings in that span. He's 6-8 with a 3.87 ERA, a 1.35 WHIP and a 75/55 K/BB in 121 innings this season.
7/27/2014 5:02:00 PM
Description: Phillies starter Roberto Hernandez beat the Diamondbacks Sunday for his fifth win of the season.
Insight: Hernandez has allowed six runs in 20 2/3 innings over his last three starts to lower his ERA from 4.48 to 4.14, but he struck out just five batters in that span and 10 in his last five starts.
5/13/2014 9:13:00 PM
Description: The Phillies will skip Roberto Hernandez' next turn in the rotation, according to mlb.com.
Insight: The Phillies have Thursday and Monday off, so they can get by without a fifth starter for the next 10 days. Hernandez is scheduled to start on May 23. He has a 4.08 ERA and a 1.46 WHIP in 39 2/3 innings this season.

Description: According to csnphilly.com, the Phillies are likely to skip Roberto Hernandez' next start.
Insight: With Monday and Thursday off this week, Philadelphia will be able to keep their first four starters on normal rest and use Hernandez out of the bullpen until next week. Hernandez has gone 1-1 with a 5.81 ERA and a 1.56 WHIP this season and hasn't been a good fantasy option since 2010.

Description: The Phillies inked righthander Roberto Hernandez to a one-year, $4.5 million deal on Thursday. SOURCE: Tim Dierkes, MLB Trade Rumors
Insight: Hernandez had an up and down year for the Rays in 2013, finishing with six wins, 13 losses and a 4.89 ERA in 32 appearances. We wouldn't rule it out completely but it's doubtful he'll return to fantasy relevance next year in Philly.

Description: Tampa Bay righthander Roberto Hernandez is expected to start Sunday against Baltimore. SOURCE: Marc Topkin, Tampa Bay Times
Insight: That was originally Jeremy Hellickson's day to pitch but the Rays were forced to use him out of the pen Friday in an 18-inning win over Baltimore. Hernandez hasn't made a start in almost a month (August 27th against Los Angeles).
7/30/2013 10:49:00 PM
Description: Rays starter Roberto Hernandez threw his first complete game since 2010 Tuesday against the Diamondbacks.
Insight: Hernandez (4.71 ERA) allowed five hits and two earned runs to improve to 6-11. The right-hander came in having given up exactly three earned runs in five straight starts.
5/29/2013 10:23:00 PM
Description: Rays starter Roberto Hernandez allowed an unearned run in the first inning but ended up tossing 8 2/3 innings and allowing just three hits in a 3-1 victory over the Marlins Wednesday night.
Insight: Miami came along at a good time for Hernandez (3-5, 4.87 ERA), as he needed a good start to keep his spot in the rotation. However, it's still the Marlins, so fantasy owners shouldn't run out and acquire Hernandez.
5/7/2013 10:38:00 PM
Description: Rays starter Roberto Hernandez limited Toronto to five hits and one earned run, walked one and struck out seven in six innings Tuesday.
Insight: Hernandez is 1-4 with a 4.66 ERA and a 1.25 WHIP through six starts. He has 37 strikeouts in 36 2/3 innings, but he's too risky to use outside AL-only formats.
4/16/2013 10:40:00 PM
Description: Rays starter Roberto Hernandez is 0-3 with a 5.79 ERA and 1.39 WHIP after three starts.
Insight: He allowed five runs (three earned) on five hits and three walks in 5 1/3 innings Tuesday against Baltimore. His only positive is his 18 strikeouts in 18 2/3 innings. It shouldn't be long before we see Chris Archer.
3/29/2013 9:56:00 AM
Description: Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times has confirmed that the Rays have chosen righty Roberto Hernandez to be the team's No. 5 starter, over Jeff Niemann.
Insight: Hernandez posted a 5.33 ERA and 1.22 WHIP this spring which wasn't as good Niemann (2.92 ERA, 1.09 WHIP), but the team made the decision for Hernandez.
3/10/2013 11:45:00 AM
Description: Rays righty Roberto Hernandez "looks like the strong favorite" to land a spot in Tampa Bay's starting five, according to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times.
Insight: Topkin cites the Rays need for an innings-eater to replace James Shields as the reason to go with Hernandez over the injury-prone Jeff Niemann. Hernandez posted a 5.25 ERA and 1.40 WHIP in 2011, his last full season. He had a 7.53 ERA in 14 1/3 innings last season after settling his age and identity fraud case.
2/21/2013 4:12:00 PM
Description: ESPN's Buster Olney reports that the Rays are impressed with what they've seen of Roberto Hernandez so far this spring training.
Insight: Olney hears that Hernandez (aka Fausto Carmona) could be in the mix for the fourth or fifth spot in Tampa Bay's starting rotation. Hernandez looked washed up in the three starts he made for Cleveland at the end of last season (0-3, 7.53 ERA) but maybe he still has a little left in the tank.
12/18/2012 5:34:00 PM
Description: The Rays have signed right-hander Roberto Hernandez to a one-year contract worth $3.25 million. SOURCE: Marc Topkin, Tampa Bay Times
Insight: Hernandez only started three games (7.53 ERA) after being detained by authorities in the Dominican Republic for using a fraudulent name (Fausto Carmona). While he's a long shot to have fantasy value in 2013, it's not as long as you might think now that he's with the Tampa Bay organization (right, Fernando Rodney owners?).
12/12/2012 9:55:00 PM
Description: Righthander Roberto Hernandez is close to signing with the Rays according to Mark Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times.
Insight: Hernandez didn't show us much last season (0-3, 7.53 ERA), but then again it was a turbulent season for the righthander. Now that he's not being detained by authorities in the Dominican Republic for using a fraudulent name (Fausto Carmona), things should be much more normal for Hernandez in 2013. We're not expecting him to return to the level that made him a Cy Young candidate in 2007 (19-8, 3.06 ERA) but there's still some potential here.
10/31/2012 8:17:00 PM
Description: The Indians did not pick up righthander Roberto Hernandez's option for next season.
Insight: Hernandez only pitched three times for Cleveland in 2012 while authorities kept him in the Dominican Republic for using a false identity. Our fantasy expectations for Hernandez are pretty low heading into 2013.
8/14/2012 7:17:00 PM
Description: Indians starter Roberto Hernandez has been reinstated from the restricted list.
Insight: Hernandez (formerly Fausto Carmona) will make his 2012 debut Wednesday against the Angels. He can be avoided in fantasy leagues.
