Description: The White Sox have designated infielder Jeff Keppinger for assignment.
Insight: With Conor Gillaspie (.313, 0 HR, 13 RBI) taking the reigns at third base, Keppinger's presence is no longer necessary. Keppinger should catch on with another team shortly, assuming he refuses a minor league assignment.

8/21/2013 9:38:00 AM
Description: White Sox third baseman Jeff Keppinger is questionable for Wednesday's game against Kansas City with a stiff lower back.
Insight: Keppinger provides nothing for fantasy owners, no speed (zero steals) and very little power (3 HR, .572 OPS). Conor Gillaspie is only a slightly better option.
7/14/2013 11:08:00 AM
Description: White Sox third baseman Jeff Keppinger is sparsely owned in fantasy leagues, but anyone who does own him should start him Sunday against Cole Hamels. He has gone 7-for-15 (.467) against the Phillies left-hander.
Insight: It looks as though Keppinger has been unlucky this season, as he has a .264 BABIP despite posting a 23.6 percent line-drive rate. However, he has been hurt by a .078 average on flyballs; there's not much luck involved there, the infielder just doesn't have any pop at all.
4/30/2013 5:08:00 PM
Description: White Sox third baseman Jeff Keppinger is not in Tuesday's starting lineup.
Insight: Keppinger (.202) hasn't played since Thursday due to back discomfort. He's officially day-to-day, but can be dropped in most leagues.
4/28/2013 10:26:00 AM
Description: White Sox third baseman Jeff Keppinger is doubtful for Sunday's game against Tampa Bay.
Insight: The former Tampa Bay Rays infielder has underachieved this season (.202, 0 HR, 6 RBI in 20 games). He can be forgotten about in most standard fantasy leagues.

4/18/2013 9:50:00 PM
Description: White Sox third baseman Jeff Keppinger went 0-for-4 Thursday and is 0-for-12 over his last three games.
Insight: Keppinger is batting .172 this season and has yet to walk in 64 trips to the plate. He hit .325 in 385 at-bats with Tampa Bay last season, but if he's not contributing in batting average he's not worth owning in fantasy leagues. He'll get hot at some point, and he'll still be on the free agent wire when he does.
4/11/2013 11:19:00 AM
Description: White Sox third baseman Jeff Keppinger is hitting .500 for his career against Washington's Dan Haren.
Insight: Haren has spent the majority of his career pitching for American League clubs so their paths have crossed quite a few times. It's understandable if fantasy owners are hesitant to start Keppinger because of his poor start (.133 AVG in his first seven games) but the numbers don't lie.
3/13/2013 7:48:00 PM
Description: According to Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune, White Sox manager Robin Ventura said infielder Jeff Keppinger (shoulder) is in no danger of missing Opening Day.
Insight: Keppinger is expected to be the starting third baseman for Chicago this season after hitting .325 in 385 at-bats last season with Tampa Bay. He's a career .288 hitter but his nine homers last season were a career high and he has never had more than four steals.
12/5/2012 6:53:00 PM
Description: Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports reports infielder Jeff Keppinger has joined the White Sox on a three-year, $12 million contract.

9/9/2012 10:31:00 AM
Description: Tampa Bay infielder Jeff Keppinger has a decent track record against Texas righthander Roy Oswalt. He's hitting .400 for his career versus the former Astros and Phillies ace.
Insight: Keppinger (.326, 6 HR, 31 RBI) is quietly having a very good year and is certainly deserving of a start Sunday against Oswalt, who has struggled with consistency during his time with the Rangers (4-2, 5.85 ERA in 12 appearances).
8/30/2012 12:02:00 PM
Description: Thursday looks like a great day to start Rays infielder Jeff Keppinger. In 15 lifetime at bats versus Toronto righthander Carlos Villanueva, Keppinger has compiled a .400 batting average with an OPS of .967.
Insight: Keppinger is coming off of a 4-for-5 effort on Wednesday and overall he has eight hits in his last 18 at bats. Look for that recent success to carry over into tonight's contest against Villanueva (6-4, 3.30 ERA) and the Blue Jays.
6/23/2012 7:54:00 PM
Description: Rays infielder Jeff Keppinger returned to the lineup from a broken big toe and went 5-for-5 with three RBIs Saturday at Philadelphia.
Insight: Keppinger raised his average to .333 but he has no pop, so mixed leaguers can stay away from him.
5/21/2012 10:25:00 PM
Description: The Rays have placed Jeff Keppinger on the DL with a broken right big toe. The move is retroactive to May 19th.
Insight: Keppinger is never going to hit 30 home runs in a season but he's been a good hitter for average (.295 in 88 at bats). Newly-acquired utilty man Drew Sutton is expected to absorb Keppinger's spot on Tampa Bay's active roster.
5/10/2012 7:09:00 PM
Description: Jeff Keppinger is back with the Rays after being activated from the restricted list earlier in the day. Keppinger will DH in Thursday's game against New York.
Insight: Keppinger missed Wednesday's game to attend to a personal matter. He'll look to continue his hot start to the season (.313 in 22 games) tonight against the Bronx Bombers.
1/17/2011 5:02:00 PM
Description: Jeff Keppinger underwent foot surgery and is expected to be out three months.

Description: The Houston Chronicle reports Keppinger (left foot) will undergo surgery on his left foot on January 14.
