Insight: He saved the last two games after blowing one on May 15 against the Red Sox. He has 12 saves, a 3.54 ERA and an impeccable 29/3 K/BB in 20 1/3 innings this season. Minnesota signed him to a four-year contract extension in March, so he has more job security than most closers.

Description: According to Nick Cafardo of Boston.com, the Twins are getting a lot of calls about closer Glen Perkins but they will not move him prior to the trade deadline.
Insight: Perkins has allowed seven hits, walked three batters and given up two earned runs over his last four appearances but still has a 2.03 ERA, a 0.95 WHIP and 25 saves this season. He'll remain Minnesota's closer.
