Description: Francisco Rodriguez is returning to the Brewers on a one-year contract.
Insight: K-Rod will earn $3.25 million in 2014. Rodriguez saved ten games for the Brewers last season before being acquired by Baltimore just before the trade deadline. Jim Henderson will be first in line for saves so Rodriguez isn't a must-own.

Description: Orioles reliever Francisco Rodriguez left Friday's game with a strained right groin.
Insight: Rodriguez has pitched decently this season going 2-1 with a 2.10 ERA and a 1.05 WHIP (10 saves with Milwaukee). He pitches in a setup role with the O's, so unless the situation changes his fantasy value is limited.
7/23/2013 9:02:00 PM
Description: The Orioles have acquired Francisco Rodriguez from the Brewers for a minor leaguer.
Insight: Rodriguez was picked up on a minor league deal earlier this season and ended up going 1-1 with a 1.09 ERA, a 1.05 WHIP and 10 saves in 10 chances over 24 2/3 innings with the Brewers. He'll pitch in a setup role with the O's, so he loses his fantasy value. Jim Henderson will step back into the closer role.
7/20/2013 4:26:00 PM
Description: According to ESPN's Buster Olney, Brewers closer Francisco Rodriguez will be the Tigers' primary target at this year's trade deadline.
Insight: The Tigers are hoping to put some distance between themselves and the second-place Indians and strengthening the team's bullpen could be the key to making that happen. K-Rod has been sensational this season, converting all ten of his save chances with a 1.14 ERA in 23 2/3 innings. If K-Rod is dealt, Jim Henderson would take over as the closer for Milwaukee.
7/3/2013 9:37:00 PM
Description: Milwaukee reliever Francisco Rodriguez picked up his seventh save of the season Wednesday against the Nats.
Insight: Rodriguez has received more save chances due to Jim Henderson's struggles since returning from the DL. Henderson blew three saves and posted a 4.50 ERA and a 1.40 WHIP in June.
6/22/2013 7:40:00 PM
Description: Milwaukee reliever Francisco Rodriguez notched his 300th career save Saturday against the Braves.
Insight: He's the 25th pitcher in major league history to reach that milestone. Rodriguez has been outstanding this year, collecting a 0.59 ERA in 16 appearances. He's a perfect 6-for-6 in save opportunities.
6/1/2013 9:35:00 PM
Description: Brewers closer Francisco Rodriguez allowed three hits, walked a batter and gave up one run, but he induced a groundout with two runners on in the ninth to close out a 4-3 win.
Insight: Rodriguez should have blown the save, but the second base umpire did not see Jean Segura drop the ball on a pickoff of Kyle Kendrick. Cesar Hernandez followed with a double with nobody on base. Rodriguez has three saves so far since taking over for the injured Jim Henderson, but he's no sure thing in the ninth inning.

Description: It looks like the Brewers are going to use Francisco Rodriguez in the closer's role while Jim Henderson is out with a hamstring injury. SOURCE: Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel
Insight: John Axford would seem like the logical choice but manager Ron Roenicke is hesitant to remove him from his role as the team's setup man. Rodriguez has tossed 3 1/3 scoreless innings since his promotion from Triple-A.
5/15/2013 5:03:00 PM
Description: The Brewers will call up reliever Francisco Rodriguez, according to Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com.
Insight: The Brewers signed him to a 30-day minor league contract on April 17 and had 30 days to promote him or release him. Jim Henderson is 7-for-7 in save chances and has a 1.06 ERA, so Rodriguez will work in middle relief.
5/7/2013 7:30:00 PM
Description: Francisco Rodriguez will be active with Milwaukee's Class-A Advanced team Tuesday night.
Insight: The Brewers signed him to a 30-day minor league contract on April 17, and will either have to release him or add him to the major league roster when the 30 days are up. He's expected to pitch with Class-A Advanced Brevard County on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday before joining Triple-A Nashville. Jim Henderson currently has six saves and a 1.38 ERA as the Brewers closer, so Rodriguez isn't likely to have immediate fantasy value.
5/2/2013 6:10:00 PM
Description: Francisco Rodriguez has secured his work visa and will report to a Brewers minor league affiliate next week, according to Adam McCalvy of MLB.com.
Insight: The Brewers signed him to a 30-day minor league contract on April 17, and will either have to release him or add him to the major league roster when the 30 days are up. He has been pitching in extended spring training games while waiting for his work visa. Jim Henderson has six saves and a 0.75 ERA since taking over the closer role from John Axford, so Rodriguez won't have fantasy value unless Henderson implodes.
4/17/2013 8:20:00 PM
Description: The Brewers have indeed re-signed veteran relief pitcher Francisco Rodriguez.
Insight: He'll start out in extended spring training and work his way up from there. Given how shaky Milwaukee's pen has been this season it's very possible that Rodriguez could close for the Brewers at some point. K-Rod will definitely be worth monitoring in fantasy leagues.
4/17/2013 6:11:00 PM
Description: According to MLBlogs.com, the Brewers are close to re-signing relief pitcher Francisco Rodriguez.
Insight: Milwaukee's bullpen has been a disaster this season and the ninth inning role could be up for grabs if Jim Henderson (1-0, 1.50 ERA) and John Axford (0-2, 15.19) can't get it together soon. It's a long shot but there's still a chance K-Rod could close out games for the Brewers at some point in 2013.
10/13/2012 6:16:00 PM
Description: CBS 58 is reporting that Brewers reliever Francisco Rodriguez was arrested last month for an incident involving domestic violence.
Insight: Rodriguez was arrested for assault two years ago so this isn't his first run-in with the law. If charges are filed, the 30-year-old could have trouble finding a job in free agency later this offseason.
7/29/2012 7:05:00 PM
Description: Brewers closer Francisco Rodriguez contributed to another meltdown Sunday against the Nationals. Rodriguez entered with a 5-2 lead in the eighth inning but could only get one out while allowing three earned runs.
Insight: K-Rod has allowed nine runs on 10 hits and eight walks in 3 2/3 innings since he was handed Milwaukee's closer role last week. Brewers manager Ron Roenicke has already removed the right-hander from that role but he may find himself designated for assignment if he doesn't improve in the eighth. The reliever can be dropped in all fantasy leagues.
7/25/2012 5:23:00 PM
Description: Brewers closer Francisco Rodriguez likely won't have that title much longer after he blew another save Wednesday afternoon against the Phillies.
Insight: K-Rod has been BB-Rod since he took over the closer role, walking seven in 3 1/3. He also has allowed eight hits and seven earned runs in that span. Meanwhile, John Axford hasn't given up a run in 5 1/3 innings since he lost his job.
7/23/2012 10:43:00 PM
Description: Brewers closer Francisco Rodriguez melted down Monday against the Phillies, allowing four runs in 2/3 of an inning in a blown save. Rodriguez was given a three-run lead and promptly allowed three hits and walked three.
Insight: The right-hander has put 12 men on base in 2 2/3 innings since he took over Milwaukee's closer role. John Axford, meanwhile, threw a scoreless 1 1/3 innings Monday and hasn't allowed a run in 3 1/3 since he was demoted. We expect Axford to get his job back quickly.
7/17/2012 5:59:00 PM
Description: The Brewers have promoted Francisco Rodriguez to the closer role, according to Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Insight: John Axford will be demoted to middle relief as the team will try to put him in situations where he can succeed. Rodriguez hasn't been as dominant this season as he has in years past but he's still a must-own player now that he's pitching in the ninth inning again.
7/6/2011 11:19:00 AM
Description: A source close to the NY Mets has said the team is looking to deal bullpen pitchers Francisco Rodriguez, Jason Isringhausen, and Tim Byrdak.
SOURCE: CBS SPORTS
Insight: If the Mets can clear out these three relievers, it will be in order to free money for future payroll and a possible mammoth contract for shortstop Jose Reyes. Even more money could be cleared if Alderson deals other players like Carlos Beltran, but such a move would send a signal to fans that the season is essentially done.
6/28/2011 10:38:00 AM
Description: The Texas Rangers have expressed interest in both Mets outfielder Carlos Beltran and closer Francisco Rodriguez.
Insight: Last week Rodriguez (K-Rod) told reporters that he'd be totally fine if he was moved to the set up role, as long as the team was a contender. Texas would certainly qualify as a contender. As for Beltran, he hasn't played centerfield this season and only started 58 games there last year. Angel Pagan replaced him last season in June. Texas is still looking for some consistency and depth in the outfield.
