Description: Blue Jays second baseman Chris Getz isn't likely on anyone's radar, but he's a career .583 hitter (7-for-12) against Royals starter Jeremy Guthrie.
Insight: Getz has just six at-bats this season, but could be a nice surprise for a cheap price.

Description: Royals second baseman Chris Getz has been activated from the disabled list.
Insight: Getz served the minimum 15 days on the DL. He was dealing with a sprained knee. Getz hasn't had an impressive season so far (.209, 1 HR, 14 RBI in 54 games) but he should see regular at bats while Miguel Tejada is out with a calf injury.

Description: Kansas City second baseman Chris Gets has landed on the disabled list.
Insight: He's battling a sprained left knee. Getz has been a colossal disappointment this season, hitting just .209 with one homer and 14 runs driven in. In the meantime, Elliot Johnson and Miguel Tejada will share reps at second base.

Description: Royals recalled second baseman Chris Getz and will give him another chance to win the second base starting job.
Insight: Getz (.214, 1 HR, 12 RBI, 4 SB) has not proven to be fantasy worthy. The Royals tried Johnny Giavotella at the spot over the past few weeks, but he too failed to produce (.206, 0 HR, 4 RBI).

Description: Royals second baseman Chris Getz is 6-for-11 (..545) in his career against Seattle right-hander Kevin Millwood.
Insight: Getz (.298, 12 RBI, 7 SB) is worth a one-day play versus Millwood.

Description: Monday, the Royals placed second baseman Chris Getz on the disabled list. He's out with a strained left leg.
Insight: Getz (.290, 0 HRs, 8 RBIs) suffered the injury Sunday in Kansas City's win over St. Louis. Getz was on the DL earlier in the season with a bruised ribcage.
6/17/2012 3:55:00 PM
Description: Royals second baseman Chris Getz left Sunday's game against St. Louis with a lateral lower leg strain.
Insight: Johnny Giavotella, a second baseman for Kansas City's Triple-A team in Omaha, was pulled from Omaha's game against Nashville on Sunday. The implication is that Giavotella is headed back to the big leagues and that Getz will be moved to the DL. Getz has hit .293 with no homers and eight RBIs in 99 at bats for the Royals this season.
6/12/2012 10:20:00 AM
Description: Royals second baseman Chris Getz is batting a cool .000 against Milwaukee ace Zack Greinke. He's hitless in 13 at-bats with four strikeouts.
Insight: Getz has little fantasy value except as an injury replacement, but is batting a respectable .277 with a 0.708 OPS and six stolen bases in just 83 at-bats. He's spent much of the season trying to recover from a ribcage injury.

Description: Chris Getz arrived to camp saying that he is the healthiest he has been in three years. He has dealt with a lot of injuries, including concussions last season.
SOURCE: KANSAS CITY STAR
Insight: He is likely training Mike Aviles for playing time at 2B but he hopes to win the job this spring. He could also push Aviles to 3B. We expect him to be a back-up player but a fairly active one.

Insight: He is only useful in AL-Only leagues for teams that need steals in the final two weeks.
7/28/2010 6:30:00 AM
Description: Chris Getz stole his third base in his last four games last night.
Insight: He has made four starts in a row. As we suggested following the Alberto Callaspo trade, there is plenty of playing time available in KC and the Royals might as well use some of it to find out what they have in Getz. He is worth using in AL-Only leagues and even deep mixed leagues if you really need steals.
7/25/2010 7:12:00 PM
Description: Chris Getz had two stolen bases today, giving him ten this year.
Insight: He isn't mixed league material but AL-Only owners should be aware that there is plenty of playing time available in Kansas City right now and the Royals might want to use some of it to really figure out what they have in Getz during the remainder of the season.

3/13/2010 10:28:00 PM
Description: Getz hit a two-run homer on Saturday, hit first hit in 13 spring at-bats.
Insight: Getz is competing with Alberto Callaspo for the starting job at second base, and he may be the front runner since he plays better defense. (SportsBuff.com)
