Description: Pirates right-hander Jeanmar Gomez left Sunday's start after one inning with forearm tightness, according to Bill Brink of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Insight: Gomez went 1-0 with a 2.15 ERA in 29 1/3 innings in his first six starts after joining the rotation on May 1, but he allowed four earned runs in the first inning Sunday. With Charlie Morton (elbow), James McDonald (shoulder) and Jeff Karstens (shoulder) on their way back, Gomez wasn't long for the rotation anyway.

Description: Pirates right-hander Jeanmar Gomez will start Sunday's game at New York, manager Clint Hurdle said Wednesday.
Insight: Gomez threw five shutout innings on short notice Tuesday against the Mariners in place of injured starter James McDonald. He has started 40 games at the major league level but owns a career 4.91 ERA and a 1.49 WHIP. Fantasy owners can ignore him for now.

Description: Jeanmar Gomez could be close to losing his spot in the Indians' starting rotation.
Insight: Gomez has given up five runs or more in four out of his last six outings and enters today's action with a 5.18 ERA. If Gomez pitches poorly Thursday against Baltimore, he could be headed to the bullpen.

Description: Jeanmar Gomez shut out the Marlins over 6 1/3 innings on Saturday to improve to 3-2.
Insight: Gomez walked two and struck out four. The Indians righty has been consistently solid this season, going 3-2 with a 3.19 ERA and 1.09 WHIP. Eight of his 15 earned runs came in his May 9 outing against the White Sox. In his other six starts, Gomez has a 1.89 ERA in 33 1/3 innings. He won't strike out a lot of batters (4.89 K/9), but his low WHIP makes him intriguing in deeper leagues.
